Tree Hut Tropic Glow Sparkling Gel Wash Is a Must If You Love Sol de Janeiro
Tree Hut Tropic Glow Sparkling Shower Gel joins the Tropic Glow family just in time for Summer 2023 and it smells like a yummy tropical drink! Yes, please! I already own the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub, Shaving Oil, and Whipped Body Butter but a few weeks ago Tree Hut launched a whole range of yummy shower gels for Spring, and along with that launch, we not only got a Tropic Glow Gel Wash but also, a Tropic Glow Shimmer Mist!
I’m sure you’ve heard everyone and their mom telling you Tree Hut Tropic Glow is a dupe for Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’62 which pretty much is why finding the Tropic Glow Shimmer Mist is going to be hard because influencers and Tiktokers are heavily promoting it was an exact dupe for Cheirosa ’62. I’m here to tell you and perhaps to disappoint you that it is NOT a dupe. If you like Cheirosa ’62 I think you’ll love Tropic Glow. And I will say they do smell a bit alike but Tropic Glow has a bit of an orange or citrus not to my nose which takes away from it being a complete dupe.
This scent has notes of Almond, Golden Amber, and Australian Sandalwood which are pretty darn different from Cheirosa ’62. That being said, they could be distant cousins as they smell equally tropical and have the same tropical gourmand DNA. I understand and appreciate why people think of them as dupes but as I said there’s something a bit more orange-y or citrus with Tree Hut’s formula. It’s not a bad thing by any means. It gives Tropic Glow a more refreshing and zingier scent.
I grabbed the Tropic Glow Sparkling Gel Wash recently from Ulta for $10.49 and was surprised it’s a pretty big bottle at 18 oz. I wasn’t going to buy it because I really am not into the gold mica in the formula but never fear it doesn’t leave any gold sparkle or shimmer on the skin. It washes clean away. The gel is thick and quite heavily fragranced! I love the fact they have a complete line up of products in this scent as it’s easy enough to layer and get the best projection from the line.
And yes, before you ask, you can indeed pair it with Cheirosa ’62 Fragrance Mist! It works beautifully combined with that scent so you can start your day using the shower gel and scrub, add in the body cream, and top with Cheirosa ’62 and you’ll be smelling like the tropics.
This is a keeper for Summer! I’m quite happy they extended the collection!
Do pick it up on your next trip to Ulta or the drugstore. Or perhaps you already own it? If so, do you love it? Do you think it’s a dupe for Cheirosa ’62?
Do share!
