Lush Luigi Shower Gel Review
Lush Luigi Shower Gel is a limited edition shower gel that launched with the new Lush x Super Mario Bros. Movie collection. Of course, I had to grab this as I grew up playing all the Mario Brothers games and I’m sadly, old enough to remember the cheese-fest that was the Super Mario Bros Movie with John Leguizamo! I mean, dude, this was my childhood how could I not indulge in some of the Lush x Super Mario Bros. Movie Collection?
The collection is around for a limited time to celebrate the release of the new CGI Super Mario Bros. Movie and it includes shower gels, bath bombs, and more! Heck, there’s even a pineapple peachy Body Spray that’s named after Princess Peach!
Lush Luigi Shower Gel is available in all three sizes of shower gel that Lush offers with prices ranging from $12.50-$40. I got an 8.4 oz bottle for $25. The shower gel is a bright green with a label featuring Luigi. If you’re partial to the bottle, which I am, you can always refill it later on with a different shower gel. As you know Mario and Luigi are from New York like me. So of course, they scented this shower gel like apple. It’s supposed to be a “green, clean apple scent” that contains fresh apple juice and zesty orange oil as well as neroli.
Initially, I thought it would smell like Lush’s beloved So White Bath Bomb but it’s actually much cleaner and fresher. For lack of a better description, it smells very green! Apple is definitely in the mix but the scent has a clean, green grassiness to it as well. The scent is rather subtle for Lush which surprised me as their shower gels, soaps, and bath bombs fill up the entire bathroom with fragrance and linger on skin and hair. This was a really light, clean fragrance that wasn’t overpowering.
I think for me I got the most joy out of the fun shade that matched Luigi’s bright green shirt that he wears under his suspenders. For nostalgic reasons I’m glad I picked it up but scent wise it was a little disappointing and not quite unique enough to rave about.
