5 stars out of 5

I picked up the new Tree Hut Vanilla Shea Sugar Body Scrub and Vanilla Whipped Shea Body Butter recently at Target and dude, I so wish I waited as they are now on sale for $7.87 each at Ulta. Oh well!

I gotta admit I was hoping for some super white cake vanilla gourmand fragrance when I purchased these but that’s not at all what I got. Oddly enough, I’m not disappointed.

So, Tree Hut Scrubs have definitely become a tiny bit of a problem for me lately. I’d go so far as to say I’m a bit addicted to picking up all the new seasonal ones. They’re so damn affordable why not treat yo’ self right? Anyway, when they launched Vanilla Shea I got pretty hyped. I was expecting some sort of delicious cupcake or cake vanilla scent since Tree Hut does do some nice gourmands.

Neither the scrub nor the body butter smells like I expected. They are very, very subtle and oddly, I’m really not that disappointed. I’m not hating the subtle scent at all. I think it’s because they are such excellent layering products. If you want to have a close, skin-like vanilla fragrance to layer with your favorite vanilla fragrance this is definitely a good way to do it. Or if you like indulging in a shower or bath in the evening and want a cuddly, warm, light scent these two are perfect for that. This scent isn’t full-on vanilla. You can definitely smell the shea in this scent. It’s a very pretty but light vanilla shea fragrance. It’s warm, feminine, and has a cuddly aspect to it.

The scrub seems a little different from other formulas. Call me crazy but it seems a bit creamer and with a lighter exfoliating texture. I’m starting to really love Tree Hut’s Body Butters by the way! They are soft, creamy, and very hydrating, but never sticky, greasy, or heavy. My elbows and knees (the driest parts on my body) feel so soft and smooth after using the scrub and butter!

If you want a light vanilla fragrance to layer with your favorite vanilla perfumes I’d recommend these two. They aren’t at all what I expected but I really enjoyed them! I hope Tree Hut might do a vanilla fragrance mist in the future. It would pair beautifully with these two!

Did you snag these? All Tree Hut Scrubs, Butters, and More are on sale till April 15th at Ulta.

I really want to try these. I am from England and Tree Hut Scrubs are not sold here. But I am going to NYC in May, so will be stocking up to take back home!

The soft vanilla and shea scent sounds beautiful.

Do you know how the new vanilla scent compares to Tree Hut’s classic Tahitian Vanilla Bean fragrance?

    • Isabella Muse

The Tahitian vanilla is much stronger and has that tropical floral note. This does not, it’s lighter, almost casmhere-like with the added shea and warmer.
