GXVE Check My Glow Multi-dimensional Illuminating Talc-Free Highlighter is now available for Summer 2023 and I’m getting wonderful Mark feel good vibes from this dry, chalky monstrosity. Ok, so technically I haven’t tried it and don’t know if it’s dry or not but judging from one comment on Sephora, which I had to screenshot before someone swoops in from Sephora’s web dev team and deletes it, my spidey senses are working correctly and it is indeed dry!

“Returning. Literally so dry and chalky on my skin. Darker than it appeared in photos. If you’re fair don’t bother. Just not good overall.” Thank you Miss mijade whoever you are you’ve done the world a great service.

No but seriously, this is probably the most unflattering highlighter I’ve seen released in a while. Just why? GXVE, if you didn’t know, is Gwen Stefani’s beauty brand. It’s one of the weirdest celeb brands I’ve seen because of the fact they keep putting out new stuff that launches at Sephora and the release proceeds to be 40-50% off on their website very quickly. Like, how are they making money? Are people flocking to Sephora to get some GXVE? Also, was Gwen told about this chalky, dry Check My Glow Multi-dimensional Illuminating Talc-Free Highlighter? Did she approve it? These are the questions that keep me up at night. I mean, I love ya Gwen but come on….! $30? I wouldn’t pay a buck. I know I’m being harsh here but sometimes some stuff just makes you scratch your head and think WHY? I literally didn’t even have to read the reviews to know how dry and chalky this was going to be. It’s giving really good Mark feels. Remember the mark On the Dot Eye Color Compact and mark Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All Over Face Palette? I do! Totally gives off a little of that but at least Mark’s formula didn’t look this dry! If it’s going to be dry at least doctor up those photos to make it look good so we don’t realize the formula is bad until we actually buy it online and get it.

Sorry. But sometimes, I just ask myself why.

GXVE Check My Glow Multi-dimensional Illuminating Talc-Free Highlighter is available now (just not sure who wants it).

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I was really disappointed in this whole line. I felt like it was a cash grab for sure.

I thought they looked nearly identical to PF Shimmer Strips all in 1 custom pallets and I was thinking why would this brand copy a drugstore brand.
