Bath and Body Works Whipped Coconut Milkshake Fragrance Mist and Body Cream is new, limited edition Semi-Annual Summer 2023 scent which will be available during the sale only. If you have your eye on this I totally recommend waiting to further in the month to haul it as it’s currently priced at $8.47 (the Shower Gel is $6.47) and it’ll likely creep down to around $4.50 or so as we get really deep into the sale towards the end of the month.

There was a lot of buzz about this one across social media before it even launched and as a gourmand lover I was definitely there for it. The notes are mouthwatering! Vanilla ice cream, toasted coconut and sugared amber! Yum! Sign me up! I purchased it online as a pick up at my local store so, I never actually smelled it. But with notes like those it was a safe blind buy. Not to mention it was making the rounds across IG and Tiktok with people raving how wonderful it smelled and what a winner it was! And of course, reviews on Bath and Body Works website were promsing.

Ok, so either this is crazily overhyped or my nose is broken. It’s a huge disappointment. Massive. I’m just not smelling anything. It’s a very light almost clean coconut scent. I don’t smell the vanilla ice cream and I’m not getting any warmth from the amber. To me it smells like time spent on a tropical island and the guy that sits by the beach side selling fresh coconuts he splits open and sticks a straw in for you. Really light, fresh, a true coconut scent if that makes sense. Because really, coconut doesn’t smell as exaggerated as perfumes sometimes make it smell. Fresh coconut water, milk, and meat smells lighter, fresher, and cleaner and that’s what I’m getting from this scent.

I thought it might be a nicer layering fragrance because on its own I really don’t pick up much from this scent. It’s just too light and trust me, I misted myself quite crazily and layered up by using the shower gel and body cream and still nothing…! It’s just very, very weak. If you wanna smell it on me you really need to stick your nose into my next and take a nice strong huff.

Sorry! It’s either me or Bath And Body Works Whipped Coconut Milkshake is overhyped as hell. I’d urge you to go smell and try it in store before investing in this one! Have you smelled it? Tell me what you think! I’d love to hear!

i bought this during the sale, the box came yesterday and haven’t opened it yet but….bummer that you don’t love it.

the best is the coconut cream pie! i am coveting it as they didn’t reissue it this year but that is my absolute favorite summertime scent from b&bw.

I REALLY NEED to know what you think! I’m wondering if it’s me! It just doesn’t smell!? It’s so light!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that one too! It was so yummy!

Oh no it’s not you Isabella, it’s definitely misleading. I am a gourmand lover too and this really missed the mark. Luckily I didn’t purchase it either but smelled it and kept walking. It’s not your nose at all. It’s nothing that it claims to be. For me this years SAS doesn’t thrill me because I have enough fruity, coconut and tropical scents. I haven’t bought a thing this year.
I want my Gourmand scents back. So don’t feel alone, because it is a big fail.
Glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. Love you blogs Sweetie.

omg I’m so glad I’m not alone as I was not understanding all the hype I came across on Tiktok and IG. People were really raving it hard but it’s so light. It isn’t bad or anything just really weak, light, and not really smelling like a milkshake! I think SAS hasn’t thrilled me in several years sadly. They just don’t have much to get excited about. Those gingham scents are really popular but I’d rather some new gourmands than that batch of florals 🙁 Aw thank you so much so glad you enjoy Musings of a Muse! that means the world to me!
