Dove Hot Cocoa Body Scrub Is So Yummy and So Small
I am absolutely in love with the new Dove Hot Cocoa Body Scrub ($4.99). This new, limited-edition Holiday 2023 Body Scrub launched exclusively at Target recently and I didn’t hesitate to pop two in my cart when I saw it online. As you may know the Dove Holiday Treats Collection launched recently at Walmart. Walmart has three scents which are Pumpkin Pie, Peppermint Bark, and Sugar Cookie. I’m not sure what happened with the Target Exclusives but as far as I know they only got the Hot Cocoa Scent and it’s only available in Body Scrub where as the Walmart scents are available in body wash, hand wash, bars of soap, scrubs, and body washes. Perhaps we’ll see more from Target next month or towards the end of the month? I sure hope so as the Dove Hot Cocoa Body Scrub smells amazing and aside from Peppermint Bark it’s probably my favorite scent from this adorable little collection.
Ok, so my disappointment is real. I ordered this without really looking at it as closely as I should have online. It’s a very small 3.5 oz jar for $4.99. The Walmart Dove Holiday Scrubs are 10.5 oz for $6.97. That’s a massive difference in size and price. What a shame. As I said above I’m wondering if there are plans to launch more in the Target Collection. The Walmart one is pretty big I’m wondering why Target didn’t get a big collection too or at the very least a complete collection for Hot Cocoa. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for more or for a larger body scrub at least. You can see in my above photo the size difference compared to the Walmart exclusives!
Ok, so yeah, it’s disappointing this is like a trial size but hey, I love it so, there’s that right? Dove released body scrubs about two or three years ago. I remember hauling a jar when they first launched but I’m a Tree Hut kind of girl and never really purchased another. The formula is quite nice. It has a sort of whipped up soap consistency and a lightly grainy consistency. If you use scrubs like Tree Hut you’ll find this formula less grainy. I like something a bit more grainer because my dry elbows, knees, and legs sure find it helpful but if you want something you can use daily this is definitely a formula to try as it’s a lot more gentle than a grainer scrub. It does creating a nice lather as you scrub and add water and washes clean away.
The scent is really lovely. It really embodies the spirit of the colder weather, cozier nights, and of course, Christmas. I get notes of warm, creamy chocolate and perhaps a little hint of marshmallow! It smells quite lovely and out of the four fragrances that Dove launched for the Holidays this is one of my favorites! I paired mine up with some Bodycology Cozy Fireside S’more Body Cream and a misting of Bath and Body Works Hot Cocoa & Cream Body Spray.
Yes, the smaller size is crushingly disappointing but I totally want to hoard away a few more of these because it smells so lovely!
