Revlon Colorstay Flex Wear Full Cover Concealer ($12.99) is a new, permanent Spring 2024 concealer that is now available at Amazon. What is Revlon Colorstay Flex Wear Full Cover Concealer? It’s a full-coverage concealer that promises up to 24 hours of crease-free wear with a “flex” formula that moves with your skin to prevent creasing. It uses “Adapti-Flex Technology” for comfortable, breathable wear that flexes with your skin. Revlon promises the formula is non-drying and long-wearing formula with a transfer and fade-resistant formula that contains Hyaluronic Acid.

I purchased two shades as I’m a concealer junkie and I’m all about any and all new formulas. This is basically a nod to Tarte Shape Tape Concealer but it’s a little late to the game since drugstore brands like Covergirl and L’Oreal have already attempted to recreate the magic of Shape Tape. That being said I like where Revlon is headed lately! Seems like they are trying to become a little bit more on-trend and I’m here for that.

Revlon Colorstay Flex Wear Full Cover Concealer is $12.99 and 0.34 oz in size. Like Shape Tape Concealer it comes in a chubbier barrel with a large doe-foot applicator for application. Revlon has since learned from past mistakes and the sticker on the barrel easily removes because as you may remember the .html” title=”Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick Big On Shine, Awesome On Formula, Really Bad On Packaging” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>Super Lustrous Glass Shine Lipstick were amazing but removing the sticker was a dilemma! Thankfully, I had no issues with these stickers. BUT….please don’t break the seal of the sticker and peel it off completely. Make sure you keep it! The shade names are not listed on the bottom of the barrel and are only on that sticker. If you purchase two shades as I did or just struggle to remember your shade name because you use a few different brands you’ll be screwed. Why they didn’t think to put a sticker with the shade name on the bottom of the packaging is beyond me but I find it sort of a pain to remember to keep the sticker on the packaging as it removes fully once the seal is peeled off. Major points were deducted for that.

Do I like this formula? Not quite…! I’ll give them props for creating a full-coverage concealer. It’s super pigmented and will cover any and all woes. But I do tend to rely on concealer for my undereye area and not for use on my face. I have dry skin, finer lines, and a dry under-eye area. This is not a concealer that works well for me. It’s very matte in finish and it sets very quickly to that matte finish which doesn’t give you a lot of time to blend it. I found it a touch messy to blend due to the fact it was setting so quickly under my eyes. Yes, Shape Tape Concealer is one I love and use daily. Yes, it’s also matte but I found that formula much more creamier, less dry, and easier to blend compared to this. This is thick with a creamier consistency but as I said it does dry down super fast which makes for a challenge getting it to look smooth and perfect. I did experience creasing with it and it did look drier under my eyes almost as if I mixed a powder with a cream and applied it under my eyes. It does provide excellent brightening coverage under my eyes but if you’re purchasing this as an undereye concealer as I did I think you’ll be disappointed with how dry it is and how hard it is to apply. I wore it through a 12-hour day and I’d say it started to crease on me within hour one and just got more noticeable as the day progressed. It does stay under my eyes and doesn’t fade but does migrate into the finer lines and this leads to the creasing and caking up I experienced.

As with all concealers prepping is key. You can get a more smoother finish when prepping well. Use your best eye creams, apply an eye serum first if you use one, and even an eye primer like Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Eye Base are all excellent ways to give this the smoothest and easiest application!

Revlon Colorstay Flex Wear Full Cover Concealer has potential but sadly, for this aging girl it just failed to work out for me. My eyes are just too dry for this to work. It has excellent coverage but the faster dry-down and the extreme matte finish was unforgiving.

Oh well!

Revlon Colorstay Flex Wear Full Cover Concealer is a new $13 concealer that’s 0.34 oz in size. This formula promises full coverage with a “flex” like formula that moves with your skin to prevent creasing. I thought the formula was thick, creamy, and very full-coverage as promised. However, I found it set to quickly to prevent proper blending. It also, creased rather badly for me. Although, long-wearing the formula just fell into my finer lines without an hour or so of application and got progressively worse through the promised long-wear. This might be a good pick for someone with oily skin that requires spot coverage or even under the eyes but make sure your eyes are smooth and line-free to avoid caking and creasing as I experienced.

Pros

  • Pigmented.

Cons

  • Drying.
  • Sets too fast preventing proper blending.
  • Creases.

Who

Revlon Colorstay Flex Wear Full Cover Concealer may work for someone with smoother, younger eyes and oily skin.

TY for thumbs down. I know I would have tried it, given adequacy of shade. Would appreciate a top 5 list with short descriptions. Have a great Thanksgiving, hopefully with your beau and parents. Your upstate place with excellent seasonal decorations would be perfect. Thanks for all you do, especially since you have a demanding day job.
