I Used My Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards Recklessly This Weekend

I think we all agree that the Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards sucks. The Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards Program has three tiers which are BI, VIB, and Rouge. Each of these tiers is based off a dollar amount spent each year with Rouge being the highest. I’ve been Rouge since the Rewards System became a thing and their were actual physical red cards you’d carry around like a red banner of honor stating you were Rouge. I still have mine (because I’m not longer in denial that I hoard stuff I don’t need).

I just check my account and it says “Enjoy life as a Rouge through 12/31/24”. I HAVE no idea how that happened because I rarely spend much at Sephora lately. Ulta gets the bulk of money and department stores like Neiman Marcus, Saks, and Nordys gets a bit too. I don’t even know how I made Rouge last year never mind this year.

Anyway, like many of you I have Reward Points just piling up in my Sephora account. You can redeem Reward Points in the Sephora Rewards Bazaar but honestly, most of it either sells out fast when it drops or it’s nothing of interest. They do drop $100 Reward Cards but they come with so many restrictions plus returns are impossible when using one that I don’t even bother anymore.

$100 Sephora Reward Cards are easier to come by nowadays but originally they’d drop at a certain time and day during the week and disappear mighty fast. To get a card you need to redeem 2500 points. This is the way to go if you have points piling up. I had points piling up and just decided to spend them recklessly this weekend using the Beauty Insider Cash option. I placed three orders at sephora.com this weekend and each time I redeemed 500 points for $10 off. Totally a dumb and reckless moment but I just have points piling up and I’m using them for nothing at all so why not? The Reward Card is the better option. Neither is actually great as you really have to put our a lot of hard earned points for that $100 (or $10) but I wasn’t using them so, I got rather reckless cashing them on each order I did this weekend. Oh well!

    The $100 Rouge rewards drop between 12:00-12:30pm eastern time every Tuesday and Thursday (at least for me). Once I have enough points, I check during those times and it’s always available. I just read your linked story about the Huda palette and so sorry that happened to you! In the past I was able to exchange items I bought with the $100 reward card (once for a foundation in a different shade, once for a completely different item) so I don’t know if my local Sephora just has different policies or the salespeople who helped me didn’t know about the restrictions on the reward card.

      yeah they are easier to come by now and tuesday and thursday are indeed the dates! I actually did a post about it a while ago to let peeps know the date they drop but during the initial run it was hard to get a handle on when they would drop and they would be gone super fly fast! That’s AMAZING! I wish I could say it happened to me. They even have a disclosure on the site about returns when using the reward cards and how they are unable to accept them! I think you just ran into some awesome Sephora SAs at your store :-D!

    I did the exact same thing this weekend, Muse! I kept thinking that I should be throwing those points away but did it anyways. I don’t think I’ll be rouge in 2024 but it doesn’t bother me in the least. And I still have my little card in my wallet too!

      HAHAHAHAHAHHAA! Omg I’m not alone! I did it anyway too! I was like screw it. Just take the ten bucks off my order. So do I! Even though I have it on my phone it’s hanging out in my wallet as well!
