Pantone’s Color of the Year is Mocha Mousse and The Comments About It Are Hysterical

The Pantone Color the Year 2025 is Mocha Mousse (17-1230 TCX) and I thought it was a rather beautiful soft brown. I’ve heard it described as a piece of chocolate mixed with a hot cup of creamy coffee. I think soft muted brown are lovely especially for your home or in our case we’re probably thinking how lovely it would look on our eyes. Not that we don’t already have 10,000 brown eyeshadows already but, well, you can never have too many of those right? Anytime a new Pantone Color of the Year is announced I think back to the days that brands actually cared about creating shades on trend with the color selected. Who remember all the fantastic Sephora Pantone Collections? Shall we take a look at some?

Below are some of the years past that Sephora released Pantone Collections. This was when Sephora cared about the releases in the Sephora Collection. Nowadays, we see far less of the Sephora Collection and what is available in really cheaply made. I dunno what happened to the Sephora Collection! It used to be incredible. The sad part it’s 30% off with code HAVEITALL and aside from some of the makeup brushes I couldn’t find a single item I actually wanted from the collection. There just isn’t a big selection to choose from anymore.

Anyway, I digress let’s talk about how hysterical some of the comments on the Pantone Color of the Year are after news broke that it was Mocha Mousse. I was actually taking this shade pretty seriously but Diet Prada posted some responses to the news on the shade and now I’m questioning everything! Allow me to share a few if don’t follow Diet Prada.

“Looks like cleaning the water from the brush after painting with watercolors at school” I can’t get this out of my head now LOL!

“Love brown but this is a bit grey are they trying to get us ready for the great depression” Ouch!

“Pantone’s Color of the Year is Mocha Mousse. A color that signifies just how much sh*t we’re going to deal with”

“You must mean mouse”

Haha…I guess Mocha Mousse has created quite a stir. I still think it’ll make a beautiful shade of eyeshadow! Sephora, we could use a Pantone Collection! It’s been a while!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I don’t get why all those comments. It is a pretty neutral color that has a wide array of combinations that go with it. For example: Using a soft “mocha mousse gloss in the lips and a beautiful yellow pop of eyeliner for spring” or, even vice versa, those tones are practical, every one can come up with a fun palette

Reminds me of some of the comments from the year of Marsala, which is the Sephora palette I coveted but never bought. IIRC, it was in the height of the red eyeshadow craze.

I actually LOVE that colour – it would suit me perfectly as an eyeshadow or lipstick and I do have quite a few of that shade. I think it’s a colour that would suit a variety of skin tones too.
