Ok, so, I’m exhausted of tossing out shower poufs! Not only is it bad for the environment but also, my anal self can’t stand the idea of keeping one in my shower for longer than three months because I’m terrified of what bacteria is lurking in one.

I’m late to the ballgame with this but I started purchasing three packs of Silicone Body Scrubber Loofahs from amazon.com about two years ago. Yes, I had a brief setback when the Pioneer Woman decided she needed to introduce a Shower Puff but aside from that I’ve pretty much rid our shower of Shower Puffs completely and never shall I return.
A silicone sponge is not porous which makes it less susceptible to becoming a playground for bacteria. It’s also easy to deep clean! Just toss it in your dishwasher! Plus it lasts a lot longer than a regular sponge or pouf as the silicone is a bit sturdier.
You might be concerned it doesn’t produce lather! Have no fear! Pour your favorite shower gel or body wash onto it and it’ll create tons of lather! Not to mention it seems to work even better than a pouf at getting your body clean. I wouldn’t say it exfoliates but the soft bristles are very pleasant on the skin and have a little bit of a tickle.
All in all, one of my best purchases for my shower! I don’t miss shower poufs at all!
I highly recommend grabbing one if you don’t love the idea of tossing out a shower pouf every few months.
