5 stars out of 5

Cocokind Daily SPF 32 ($25) is a mineral SPF with a clean formula that helps protect skin against UVA, UVB, and blue light. I wasn’t sure I was going to love this when I first tried. It’s a lower SPF than I’m used to using (I prefer 50+) and it was a thicker formula. It took a second but this has become a part of my permanent round of sunscreens.

This is actually my first experience using anything by Cocokind and I’m pretty much in love with the way they break down the formula completely on the box. They list the ingredients, tell you the percentage of what’s in the formula and even mention if it is fragranced and if it is they measure it on a little scale showing you how light or heavy the scent will be. It’s pretty nifty the way it’s all laid out for you to see what it is you’re putting on your face.

This is a daily SPF 32 that contains 21% zinc oxide to protect skin. Obviously, SPF 32 is on the lower end of the spectrum and if you’re out and about for longer periods of time or at the beach or poolside you’ll need to make sure you reapply this at least every two hours. I like a higher SPF as I can go longer without the need to reapply. I started using this about a month ago.

I tend to like light gel-like sunscreens most of which are either from Japan or Korean. These are fantastic since they absorb fast, wear well under makeup, and have are typically 50+. However, the gel formula comes with fault. Typically, these formulas are loaded with alcohol which can be very trying plus it breaks down collagen. I deal with that because I love the quick absorption and lightweight formula but alcohol is awful on my drier skin like mine.

Cocokind Daily SPF 32 contains no alcohol and is a more traditional SPF formula as it runs thicker. I was pretty sure going into application was going to hate this. It’s very thick, it takes a moment to absorb, and it feels a bit greasy initially. I was like nope, hate it. I applied this after my shower and was getting dressed before applying my makeup. When I did that first application I didn’t get any white cast. I read reviews that said it left a white cast. I saw no issues with a white cast at all. Which was surprising considering how thick and stark white it was (it’s a pretty traditional SPF formula, the ones we all cringe at!). But no issues at all! It did at first leave my skin a bit greasy but as I got dressed it absorbs completely. Absolutely no shininess, no greasiness, and my makeup applied beautifully on top. Count me impressed! And throughout the day it didn’t feel heavy or greasy either. It contains no fragrance either I tend to tan easily or I get a bit red on my cheeks when out in the sun even when wearing SPF. I actually didn’t experience that when wearing this.

I’ve been using it daily now for a month or so and I gotta say this one is a keeper. It’s not something I use if I plan on being out in the sun for long periods of time since reapplication is necessary but for daily wear it’s perfect. Plus if you’re looking for a clean SPF that fully discloses its ingredients this is an excellent one to choose from.

Cocokind Daily SPF 32 is available now. Have you tried this one?
