Bare Minerals Gen Nude Highlighting Blush Make It Make Sense

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Highlighting Blush ($26) is a new two-in-one blush and highlighter that combines the rosiness of a blush with the “lit from within” glow of a highlighter. Ok, so, all I can say is YES, YES! I love this idea. But why am I looking at the swatches and promo images and scratching my head. I’m not a big, big highlighter person but I do love blush highlighter hybrids like Melt Cosmetics Digital Dust Highlighter in Genesis, Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder, Hard Candy Just Glow Silk Blush, and of course, Bareminerals Gen Nude Blonzer Blush + Bronzer!

Speaking of Gen Nude Bronzer Blush + Bronzer I have to say that Bare Minerals really did an outstanding job with that formula. It was the perfect touch of radiance, warmth, and color! And I was pretty hyped to see these new Gen Nude Highlighter Blushes. Now, Saie just did a new Glow Sculpt Multi-Use Cream Highlighting Blush and this is the formula one would expect from a hybrid highlighter and blush but Gen Nude Highlighting Blush well, we can only hope the promo images are inaccurate as these just look like a highlighter. I would not use these as a blush going by the promo images they are merely a highlighter. And hey, that’s ok! Am I disappointed? Yes. I’d LOVE it if these worked out as great as the Blonzer Blush. I think if they created something a blush with a radiant glow that gives you that “I applied blush and highlighter” finish I’d be very excited to try.

But right now, mmmmmm, not so much! The shades just aren’t appealing to me and I don’t believe they’ll work as a blush for me. I’d probably trample someone if they had a golden peach or a coral in this round up but sadly, they do not. The peach shade they do have looks a bit beige!

Shades include:

  • Opal Glow (golden pink shimmer)
  • Peach Glow (peach shimmer)
  • Pink Glow (peachy pink shimmer)
  • Mauve Glow (delicate petal pink shimmer)
  • Rose Glow (dirty rose shimmer)

Let’s hope I’m wrong and these turn out better than they look! Bare Minerals Gen Nude Highlighting Blush are available now!

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. Oh yeah, these are looking way too frosty/glowy to be a blush. It’ll probably show every pore on the cheeks.

As a side note, I’ve discovered that I’m not a glowy blush person at all. I have the Chanel from the spring collection, and I barely touch it because I don’t like shine on my skin other than from skincare. I sometimes get caught up in hype still, and I almost always regret it. LOL!

they do NOT look like they’d work as a blush especially the color range and yeah, frost alert no thanks! I’m totally a shimmery, glowy blush girl hehe! Bring them on! Just not these thanks 😀

Hi Muse! Two new blonzer colors at Sephora! Kiss of Mauve and Kiss of Spice. I got Kiss of Mauve and it is gorgeous. I think you would like it especially!
