If I have to hear one more person compare and call Bath and Body Viva Vanilla Fine Fragrance Mist a dupe of Eilish Perfume I think I’m going scream bloody murder. Please everyone stop saying that!

Viva Vanilla is one of ten new luxury inspired fragrances that Bath and Body Works recently introduced online and in select stores. Each of the ten fragrances is “inspired by” a luxury perfume aka it smells identical to popular and way more expensive fragrances like Tom Ford Lost Cherry and Parfums de Marly Delina. There’s even a new men’s fragrance called First Sight which is a Baccarat Rouge 540 dupe!

As with most things on the Internet the Bath and Body Works Luxury Collection is getting a lot of hype. I get it! Some of the fragrances that Bath and Body Works are $300+ dollars a bottle and people are really excited to get their hands on a duplication for $19 bucks (or less! I got the entire collection for less than $60 thanks for the mist being on sale for $5.95 plus having a 25% off coupon). The launch has stirred up such a great response many of the scents are sold out including the popular Viva Vanilla fragrance that everyone keeps calling an Eilish No. 1 dupe. Trust me, if you want a longer wearing and stronger version of the delicious chocolate and vanilla scent that is Eilish I totally recommend Lattafa Nebras! And the best part it’s $35! However, this $19 bottle of Bath and Body Works Viva Vanilla Fine Fragrance isn’t going to do it if you’re wanting something that smells like Eilish! If you want a perfume body spray version of Eilish just go with the original! Yes, there is a Eilish Fragrance Mist and it’s $18 and quite lovely.

All that being said, I STILL really like Bath and Body Works Viva Vanilla and I even got a backup (and I’m tempted to get some more). I’m just irked at the people calling it a dupe of Eilish because it isn’t.

If anything at all I’d say Viva Vanilla smells a little like Kayali Vanilla 28 but again, nothing like Eilish! Was I disappointed about that? I love Eilish but I wasn’t terribly disappointed that this didn’t smell like Eilish because I’m very happy the dupe I’ve already found of this scent. It also helps that Viva Vanilla isn’t disappointing! It smells beautiful! I absolutely loved it (enough to get backups as I said above) and think it’s a gorgeous vanilla. It’s currently sold out but I noticed it’s been stocked and restocked at least twice so far. Keep refreshing and checking back! If you live in a college town you can check your local stores. From reports I’m hearing these are popular with college kids and that’s where they are focusing selling them. I haven’t seen them in any of my stores (I don’t live near any colleges). That’s the rumor, not sure how true it is but again, they aren’t in all stores and only available at select locations.

Viva Vanilla has notes of rich plum, glowing amber, and vanilla. I get none of the plum and only traces of the amber. This is a sweet, cozy, boozy vanilla. I want to say it has some woodiness but I think that it leans towards being more of a boozy vanilla versus a woodsy one. It does have a bit of smokiness which gives it warmth and makes it a bit sexy. It really is quite a lovely and grown up vanilla fragrance that isn’t your traditional vanilla cake or cupcake scent. If you like warm, boozy, smoky vanillas you’ll get on well with this. I’m hearing that people get straight of alcohol from the scent but I thought it was a beautiful vanilla!

Sadly, Bath and Body Works did not give us a matching body lotion collection with this launch which makes this Fine Fragrance Mists even shorter wear than if you’re layering with a matching body lotion. I’d recommend an unscented lotion to pair this up with or you can use EOS Cashmere Vanilla or TPH Anything Glows Body Oil. Both of these are excellent companions to Viva Vanilla! I’m currently wearing it with Cerave Unscented Body Cream and I can get a nice five hour bubble from it. If I don’t layer some sort of lotion with it I do find it disappears within an hour on me.

Bath and Body Works Viva Vanilla is beautiful and worth a pick up if you’re a vanilla fan!

I`ve heard comparisons to Snif Vanilla Vice, which I get because I don’t get foodie gourmand from either Viva or Vice. I’m going to try and layer with various vanilla lotions and see if I can get Viva in the edible direction, lol.
I’m not very big on floral gourmands but I decided to get Pink Obsessed and it’s yummy. I can pick up all the notes with jasmine leading and the praline coming in on the dry down. I don’t have VDBIR so I can’t compare. I’m going to try layering it with different lotions as well.
I heard a rumor that if these do well, BBW might follow up with body care later this year.

mmm not quite. I thought Snif’s was more woodsy or dare I say bonfire-y if that makes sense LOL! I’m wearing it with Cashmere Vanilla today and that def gives it a little bit of a cake element. Gee, I hope so! I’d love matching lotions!
