I’ve Been Waiting All My Life for a Hydrating Benefit POREfessional

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Oh my god! Finally! There’s a new Benefit the POREfessional Hydrate Primer and I’m all about out. I don’t typically like silicone primers but I’ve been to enjoy the POREfessional from time to time. It’s particularly a good little primer for me in the Summer when I’m wearing less makeup and my skin is showing a little shine. But honestly, it’s about damn time they did a hydrating version of it right?

Benefit The POREfessional Hydrate Primer launched late last month and I was nodding my head in approval because the weather is getting colder, the snow is starting to drop, and my skin is two sizes too small. A hydrating primer is just what I need. This one contains Hyaluronic Acid which is so disappointingly low on the list. It’s a water-based formula with glycerin. It does contain a good deal of silicones such as Dimethicone so, sadly you aren’t getting rid of the cones with this formula.

That being said maybe it’ll be nicely hydrating. It is oil-free which means you’ll get the moisture without the shine and oiliness. Lucky enough it’s available in a mini 0.25 oz size to try and it’s on sale at Ulta for Buy 3, get 1 Free (mix and match all minis from Tarte, Benefit, Urban Decay, and More). I grabbed a mini to try out and will share my thoughts soon!

The larger size is 0.75 oz and $32 which is the exact same price and size of the original.

Benefit the POREfessional Hydrate Primer is available now.

Are you excited about a hydrating formula in this old fan favorite?

It’s the Year of the Rat But Really Everything Is Looking a Bit Mousy

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Too Faced Diamond Light Multi-Use Diamond Fire Highlighter arrives to celebrate Chinese New Year 2020 and the Year of the Rat. The only problem is everything I keep seeing released in the makeup world for the Year of the Rat is all very mousy and cute looking. I guess rats aren’t terribly cute but mouses are. Case in point, the Too Faced Diamond Light Multi-Use Diamond Fire Highlighter features a cute little mouse on the outer packaging with big ears and a sweet little smile. Not very rat-like to say the least. Hey, cute sells right?

Diamond Fire is not a new shade and is already available in the permanent Too Faced Collection. Only the packaging is limited edition but shade is exactly the same as the permanent with a swirl of blue diamond, pink, and yellow shades. I gotta admit it sort of sucks they re-promoted the same exact shade of highlighter. I guess it’s just cheaper to throw the same formula into a new pair of clothes and market it as limited edition. Shrug.

I actually don’t have the original! It’s super pretty and I remember being excited about it when it launched but my logical side talked me out of purchasing it as I don’t really use highlighter all that much.

Too Faced Diamond Light Multi-Use Diamond Fire Highlighter gets an early launch at HSN for $36 (same as the permanent shades) and should be available from other retailers as we near the Chinese New Year.

What do you think of the packaging? Are mice ok to represent the Year of the Rat?
