E.L.F. Cosmetics Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss ($5) are a new, glossy jelly lipgloss that launched with the new E.L.F. Jelly Pop Summer 2019 Collection in four translucent shades. I purchased these instantly because they remind me of the old Majolica Majorca Honey Plump Gloss Neo and Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss which I miss so hard and so much. Ugh I mourn the loss of that lipgloss daily.
You see, I really like icky, gooey, shiny, thick lipglosses like this. Ones that don’t really provide a ton of color but do give lips that super juicy, glossy look! I was hopefuly Colourpop So Juicy Plumping Gloss would swoop in and save me from the melancholy I still feel for the loss of Mirror Mirror Lipgloss but sadly, I found them a bit too thick and sticky.
So, all my hopes are pinned on E.L.F. Jelly Pop Juicy Gloss!
Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Under-Eye Concealer ($11.99) is a new concealer that launched in 12 shade selections with a formula that promises to “instantly” wipe out dark circles courtesy the full-coverage formula.
I was pretty excited to try this formula because I’m a concealer junkie as you know but also, because they were promising full-coverage with a long wear! Yes, please. I don’t need a ton of foundation on my face as my skin is fairly smooth and blemish-free. But concealer? I need tons of it. I’m prone to puffy, baggy eyes and as I get older it seems like it gets worst not to mention lately I feel like my eyes look a bit sunken in. I rely on concealer to conceal these issues and brighten up the area so I appear more rested. I’ve been using Tarte Shape Tape since it launched and it is my go to however, I feel like the formula changed so, between that feeling and the fact I never have problems cheating on my HG products I decided to try out Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Under-Eye Concealer.
And I have mixed feelings.
I know it’s not beauty related but I wanted to share that Charming Charlie is closing all stores as of the end of August as I know many like the store as much as I do. 261 stores in 38 states will shut their doors as of August 31st and it appears even the online website will be done too. Charming Charlie filed for bankruptcy on July 11th and already are putting everyday on sale. Most of the online site is sold out at this point.
They originally filed for bankrupcy back in April 2018 and closed 100 stores but those efforts were not enough to cut debt so, they are not just apparently completely going out of business.
It’s pretty sad as I really like their accessories. Charming Charlie joins over 7,000 other stores that have closed in the past few years as it’s impossible for many brick-and-mortar stores to battle with online retailers.
I think the future pretty much holds absolutely no hope for malls or actual stores as everyone will be shopping online versus driving to the nearest store to pick up what they need. We are already a spoiled generation that gets everything delivered to our door from the common pizza to a full selection of groceries and everything else in between.
If you have gift cards from Charming Charlie I urge you to head to your local store and spend them while you can!
Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss ($8.49) is a new, permanent lipgloss formula that launched in 12 shades for Summer 2019 that’s inspired by the Super Lustrous Lipstick Collection.
Super Lustrous The Gloss might easily be mistaken for the original Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss that got relaunched with new packaging back in 2013 with Emma Stone as the promo model. I know when I saw these I thought, “Oh are they repackaging again because of Gal Gadot?” I realized after trying them that they are a completely different formula compared to the Super Lustrous Lipglosses!
Revlon’s on a roll with new lipglosses this season that seem similar to the ones they already have like the recently launched Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish which are quite reminiscent of Ultra HD Matte Lip Color and Ultra HD Matte Metallic Lipcolor.
Rest easy though knowing that the Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss is quite a different formula compared to the original Super Lustrous Lipgloss line. I also have no doubt that both glosses will remain permanent.
