It’s Monday! I’m tired from the weekend and my eyes are suffering. Puffy, dry, and just not looking awake! My solution? Concealer and lots of it but most importantly tons of hydrating eye cream before I pile on that pigmented concealer. I’m of an age now that having the most hydrated under eye area on the block is the most important part of my makeup prep. I have A LOT of favs in the eye cream world but I’m often rotating what I use to see what gets my the best results.

One thing that we are seriously lacking in the eye product is eye serums! Why don’t we have more of them? We def have a few but not nearly as many as I’d like to see! One of my favs serum of sorts that I apply before any eye cream is the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives Hyaluronic Acid + Caffeine Hydrating Eye Serum. I LOVE this stuff. It’s seriously the best way to not only add extra moisture but also, it seems to plump up the skin under the eye which makes finer lines look smoother!

I have been cheating on it lately though….!

As I get older I appreciate more natural looks more not to mention I’ve come to appreciate mattes more and more and more. Two of my most used palettes since their releases are the Danessa Myricks Beauty Groundwork Defining Neutrals Palette and Danessa Myricks Beauty Groundwork: Blooming Romance. I absolutely love these palettes. When the original Groundwork Palette launched I was a complete naysayer as the palette just looked like a selection of all the same tone of brown from darker to lighter. And I went back and fourth deciding if I needed it. I am so glad I finally caved because it is sincerely one of my most used palettes. I absolutely love the formula, how effortlessly I can create a look, and how beautiful the looks I can create using it. When the Blooming Romance Palette launched I didn’t hesitate grabbing it. It’s just as beautiful but my baby is the original version! If you love nude, natural eyeshadow looks or if you want a palette you can use everyday for work friendly looks the original will get the job done.

I was kind of hopeful Danessa would do another version for Fall but she dropped the more colorful LIGHTWORK VI The Freedom Palette instead! But hey, there’s still Spring 2025 Makeup Collections upcoming so maybe a new Groundwork Palette will launch for that season!
