I’m taking bets that Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 Eau de Parfum will not smell like marshmallows. Who’s in? Oh wait, you haven’t heard the news maybe? Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow is a new gourmand fragrance (I use gourmand so very loosely) with notes of stawberry, pink marshmallow, and vanilla. Huda is always out there marketing it as the fluffiest, delicious, yummy, sweet scent you ever did meet. But girl, I dunno, you burned me too many times in the past with these “gourmand” releases. The marketing is so on point for these fragrance but the reality is, they don’t actually smell anything like your marketing. I’m talking to you Yum Pistachio Gelato!

Unfortunately, Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow will fall victim to influencers overhyping it to death as the must have fragrance of the moment. A crazy, viral trend will follow and it’ll be sold out within moments of launch. The real reviews will take a while to come in and when they do I SUSPECT they’ll be ones that rant about the fact this doesn’t smell anything like they imagined it would. Of course, I’m speculating that will happen because it could go either way. MAYBE this time we’ll get a fragrance that actually does smell like we’re envisioning it smells but I’ve been burnt one too many times with Kayali and preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.

Some of the main notes are being promoted heavily on this scent like pink marshmallow, whipped vanilla, and strawberry. But outside of whipped vanilla none of these are at the dry down which is really what sticks once we get passed those base and heart notes. As per the description this is a warm, spicy scent. Uh oh…! Did I mention the dry down contains Ambrox? Ambrox can go either way! Sometimes it can be earthy or woodsy and sometimes medicine-like or even creamy. The good news is the dry down also includes whipped vanilla, raspberry sugar, and pink musk. Ok, these are promising but Ambrox is in there too and Kayali’s Signature Accord. Kayali’s Signature Accord is a blend of blend of tonka, praline, vanilla, and musk. Again, this isn’t sound too bad. But I’m not sure if the ambrox will add anything woods or earthy to the final dry down.

The top notes are more fruity with a bit of floral. You’ll get pink lady apple, Italian lemon, freesia, and nectarine blossom. The real interest notes are the middle ones with orange blossom water, pink marshmallow, coconut flakes, and strawberry. I can’t lie! I’d love if the dry down had the strawberry and marshmallow notes. Marshmallow is being pushed very heavily in the marketing and people are absolutely going to assume it’s going to smell exactly like that not to mention you’re going to have a tune of perfume Tiktokers telling you it’s delicious pink marshmallow but my bets are that note will be brief.

Mona, girl, if this smells like pink marshmallow sign me up for a case but I’m prepping for the worst here! Your fragrances have become to overhyped and not true too what you’re marketing them as! My disappointment is serious with the last few launches please don’t disappoint me with this one!

Are matte lips still a thing? Apparently, Maybelline Super Stay Teddy Tint Long Lasting Matte Lip Tint didn’t get that memo! Maybelline Super Stay Teddy Tint Long Lasting Matte Lip Tint is a new 12 hour, no transfer matte lip tint. Doesn’t Maybelline have like a hundred and fifty versions of this formula already? Remember, when NYX used to release matte after matte product a few years ago? They had like 12 matte liquid lipsticks in their permanent catalog and I struggled believing they ALL had different formulas! I was convinced they were all the same formula with different names. We see you NYX, we know. But seriously, Maybelline has so many matte lipsticks why another one?

So, there claim to fame with this formula is it’s a tint with a teddy-soft blurred finish (very on trend with Korea’s blurred lip look. The goal is to create a gradient or ombre look using the tint but also, they sneak in the fact you can use the color on your cheeks as well. Ok, so that’s how they want to tempt me! I can use it on lips and cheeks! Hmmm! No sale! I just can’t see myself buying these. I’m just not into the matte liquid lipsticks and I’m confused how this is still a trend especially with zoomers loving all over products like Summer Fridays Lip Butter and Dior Lip Oil!

Stay Teddy Tint Long Lasting Matte Lip Tint is available in ten shade selections for $12.99 each and are now available at ulta.com! They should be headed to stores very soon and I imagine that price point might be a bit lower at stores like Target and Walmart.

Sadly, I’m skipping these. I’m really not into matte lips at all! Just give me the glossy, juicy looks and I’ll be happy! how about you? Are these headed into your cart?

It’s very much become a reality to walk into CVS, Target, Walmart, and many other stores only to be confronted with products being locked up. Essential items like deo, toothpaste, and laundry detergent now all locked up. There’s a certain irony in the fact that my local Walmart locks up things like toothpaste but they literally have six rows of cosmetics that are not locked up. So, wait, you’re telling me people are stealing the $4.99 toothpaste and leaving behind the Maybelline Mascara for $17.99? The math isn’t mathing with the lockdown situation. It’s not only Walmart but also, Target and CVS. These places have aisles of makeup that isn’t locked down but they’ll lock up deodorant. I mean, I guess there’s some sort of method to the madness and these items are high theft items but I know if I was a thief I wouldn’t be headed in for the toothpaste.

I’ve always been a huge online shopper but the last year or so a lot of my local stores have started locking up virtually everything and it’s annoying to shop there now. First off, I like to touch things, read the back of the packaging, sometimes I even take a little sniff of a body wash (If it’s seal I’m SO NOT THAT girl that opens it but I’ll steal a sniff if it is open!). That’s become impossible to do now with everything being locked up. You really need to know what you want and not waste the person’s time who is unlocking the case. They aren’t going to stand their while you read the bottle, browse the other options available, etc…! They want to unlock the case, give you the item, and get out of there. That’s also, a problem I don’t understand the solution to. How does locking something up only to hand it to someone prevent theft? I mean, ok, you locked it up and maybe that will prevent someone from stealing a few of the same item but what’s to say they won’t steal that one item you did unlock?
