It’s the most wonderful time of the year because starting today the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 starts at 12:30 EST for Nordy Club Icon and Ambassador-level card holder can shop Anniversary Sale which technically speaking isn’t really a sale at all but it’s still pretty cool with plenty of fun makeup and early Fall 2019 makeup, clothes, and accessories to purchase! Think of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as an early peek at Pumpkin Spice season because lord knows, I’m tired of the Summer already and ready for Fall. Bring it on!
So, if you aren’t in the “know” about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale here’s how it works! Each year, Nordstrom gets dibs on new products for the Fall season ahead of many other larger department stores. Typically, this includes individual items or Nordstrom special exclusive value sets or even collections available exclusively at Nordstrom. Sadly, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has changed a good deal since I’ve been shopping it. It was typically a very exciting even with many, many interesting things to buy. The last few year’s it’s been a little weak in my opinion. For example, MAC used to always do an exclusive collection with Nordstrom but that’s changed over the years and evolved into exclusive MAC Palettes or MAC sets versus a color collection with many different individual lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, etc….This year, I wouldn’t say there is anything truly special but there are some great value sets! I really feel they outdid themselves in that area.
Another thing that was interesting and new last year is there were in fact clearance and specially marked items available for purchase like an excellent deal for a Simple Human Mirror which they sort of brought back this year with the Simple Round Sensor Mirror Pro that’s typically $250 but on sale for $150! The Anniversary Sale doesn’t technically mean clearance or 75% off that lipstick you really want. People get a little confused by Nordstrom’s terminology especially in this day and age where we’ve all come to enjoy never having to pay full price for anything including luxury goods. However, as I mentioned there were some excellent deals that popped up last year and if I see anything like that this year I’ll be sure to post and weight in on whether or not I think it might be a good value. I urged many people to grab that Simple Human Mirror last year because of the price and I think some of you appreciated it. I hope I can do the same this year with some good clearance or specially priced items. They have some great sets with fabulous prices on luxury brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Ford which contain all full-size products! If you don’t typically buy higher-end makeup this makes for a good time to indulge because the prices are so good!
Along with the special and early launches Nordstrom offers a variety of gift with purchases. I’d say most brands like Lancome, L’Oreal, etc take part in this plus fragrance purchases typically include some GWP. That might be incentive to grab something you want as a gift always makes for a nicer purchase when I’m spending $$.
