Tatcha The Silk Sunscreen Repackaged with a New Bottle Will It Stop Exploding Now?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Tatcha The Silk Sunscreen SPF 50 Weightless Mineral Sunscreen is amazing but I’m thanking the beauty gods today it has been repackaged in a new bottle but will that prevent it from exploding now?

This formula truly is a beautiful sunscreen. It’s light, creamy, blends beautifully, wears well under makeup, but the bottle explodes. I didn’t have issues with my bottle the first few times I used it but as time went on it became messier and messier to use. The original bottle is a small, squat little square with a needle nose applicator. For some reason or another the sunscreen would gather at the top of the bottle and just explode out of that little needle nose applicator every single top I opened it. I think it was just trapping air on the bottom of the bottle and when I’d replace the lid that air would remain trapped. When I opened it it would act like a little shotgun and just squirt sunscreen everywhere as soon as I applied the smallest squeeze to the bottle.

It was messy to say the least. Tatcha has repackaged the Silk Suncreen in a longer, taller bottle. I don’t technically know if this is going to help all that much as it seems like it’s the same packaging just in a taller bottle. But who knows, maybe that length of the bottle will prevent air getting trapped inside it and causing that exploding action I experienced with the original bottle.

Sadly, this new packaging does bring a price change. It’s still 1.7 oz in size but instead of $60 it’s now $64 on tatcha.com and oddly, $62 at sephora.com! I’ll buy it when it goes on sale to see how the new bottle checks out. I’ve never repurchased it because of the issues I’ve had with the original bottle but if this new bottle works out I’ll happily pay the uptick in price as I do love this formula.

Have you experienced issues with the original Tatcha The Silk Sunscreen? Excited for the new one?

Cancer-Causing Chemical Found in Clinique

News broke today that select Clinique as well as Target Up & Up, Proactiv, PanOxyl, and Clearasil acne treatments have very high levels of cancer causing chemical benzene. A petition has been filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration requesting a recall the product as well as to conduct an investigation and revise industry guidance.

“The benzene we found in sunscreens and other consumer products were impurities that came from contaminated ingredients; however, the benzene in benzoyl peroxide products is coming from the benzoyl peroxide itself,” said Valisure Co-Founder and President David Light. According to Valisure’s tests these products could form more than 800 times the restricted FDA concentration limit for benzene. No exact product information has been shared but if the recall is accepted I’m sure we’ll see a list of those products affected but I thought this worth sharing if you do use any of these brands.

Real Techniques Bubble Blending Makeup Brush Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

Who doesn’t love a flawless foundation moment? The brand new Real Techniques Bubble Blending Makeup Brush will help get you there! The Real Techniques Bubble Blending Makeup Brush 260 ($11.99) is a new and affordable bubble-shaped brush that works with creams of all kinds (and powders) for easy, flawless application on your face or body. As with all Real Techniques Makeup Brushes this under $20 bucks and created with super soft bristles that are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

I love brushes like this and have quite a few one in particular that comes to mind is the old Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Kabuki Brush that launched back in 2012. Would you believe I still have it and it’s still serving me well after all this time. I readily admit I’m a finger girl not to mention I don’t apply a lot of foundation but I still love to use brushes like this when I’m doing a full glam look.

Target Circle 360 Offers Delivers In Under an Hour

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

By now you likely heard about the new Target Rewards Program Called Target Circle 360? What is Target Circle 360? Target Circle 360 is a new paid membership that includes unlimited free same-day delivery for orders over $35 in as little as under an hour with no delivery free plus free two day shipping along with other perks that Target hasn’t yet revealed. According to reports they are looking at a “wide range” of other benefits to sweeten the membership offer and to get you to pay $49 a year for it.

Target Circle 360 launches April and initially you can snag it for $49 per a year but that offer ends May 18th and when it renews it will be $99 a year or it will remain at $49 if you have a Target Circle Credit Card.

Target has plans to relaunch their original Target Circle Loyalty Program as well and they’ll be a cool perk where you no longer have to apply coupons in the app to get them as they’ll now automatically be applied to your purchases. They’ll also be rebranding their Target Red credit card program with the Circle Credit Card getting you 5% off purchases, free two-day shipping, and extended time on returns.

Apparently they are attempting to boost weak sales as earnings have been down for three quarters which surprises me as my Target is always busy as hell with people strolling around with carts and carts of stuff! But this is also, a direct hit to Amazon Prime and Walmart+ as both these programs were around pre-Target Circle 360. According to Walmart their regular customers don’t spend nearly as much as their Walmart+ Members and I’m sure Target is hopeful to see the same sales boost by introducing this new rewards program.

I could see myself joining Target Circle 360 as I find online shopping easier, more convenient, and just time saving compared to heading out to my local store which is always busy and has lousy parking (it’s underground parking which I hate). Don’t get me wrong I like taking long, romantic strolls down the Target aisle as much as the next girl but sometimes I’m too busy to take the time to do so and this program sounds great!

Be on the look out for your chance to join Target Circle 360 starting in April!
