By now you may or may not have run across the viral Tiktok of a bridge washing her wedding makeup off after twenty minutes that was done by a makeup artist she hired. If not, here’s what happened.

In the viral clip, the bride is filmed over a bathroom sink washing her makeup off as one of her bridesmaids holds her hair back and comforts her. According to reports the bride hated the look and didn’t feel herself. I can relate to this on some level when going to counters and asking to be shade matched and just having them choose the warmest shade of foundation that made me look like I was using way too much bronzer. Or that time I went to Benefit to have my brows filled and well, did they overfill them to the max!

It’s ok to NOT like how a makeup artist did your makeup. It’s ok to wash it all off and start again. It’s not the ideal situation on your wedding day considering everyone wants everything to be perfect on that special day but if you hate it why should you wear it all day not to mention take pictures in it? The bride expressed how much she hated it, she washed it off, and redid it herself in a way she felt prettiest and that’s ok. According to reports she said she asked for a natural glow but it came out very powdery. She also, said she had the makeup artist did a trial run and expressed her concerns during that time.

I think she has every right in the world to look perfect on her day and every right in the world to wash off makeup she hated however, I think she made two very important mistakes.

I hope if you’re on the West Coast and in the vicinity of any of the fires you’re safe and sound. My heart goes out to you. Watching this unfold on the news is truly heartbreaking and sad.
This is like something you’d see in a movie and not in real life.

If anyone is interested in donating GoFund me has an verified page to donate also, the LAFD are taking donations. And of course, Red Cross and the Salvation Army. I did a drive by and donated to a bunch of different places and a huge one to the Pasadena Humane who is really working hard to get animals sheltered during these awful fires. If you are in the area they are need of food, bowls, blankets, and if you have the means you can foster an animal. They have two emergency locations set up for pets but they are filling up fast. I wish I could find someway to get supplies there personally. I’m actively on the phone today trying to figure out how to help further. Fingers crossed I can actually do more than send money to them.

If you’re in a dangerous area during these fires (I pray you aren’t) you can text “SHELTER” and your ZIP code to 43362 for the nearest open shelters so you’ll have somewhere safe to be. AirBnb.org has also teamed up with 211 LA to provide temporary housing for those have lost their home or temporarily been evacuated. They are focusing on particularly areas currently such as Santa Monica, Malibu, and more but hopefully, the program opens up to more areas. You can find info on the AirBNB website or on 211 LA.

P.S. BPAL fans: Ted posted and everyone is safe in perfume-land over there. They lost electricity but aside from that they’re safe. I was planning on reaching out to Elizabeth but was happy to see his post. Also, everyone is fine at Dark Delicacies although, I am worried about them regardless. They’re posting updates on Instagram if you want to check in with them. I hope everyone on the West Coast is safe and I hope your families are as well. This is a horrible way to start of 2025.
