I’ve seen quite a lot of interesting Tiktoks about this and I’m prepared to try it but only in the Summer when my dry skin decides to become a bit oily around the T-Zone area.

No, no not Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder BUT De-Slick in a Tube. It was magic. Pure magic. And they took it away. I think it was around for less than a year before it got discontinued. I think about it often and how wonderfully it tamed shiny and oily areas around my face in the warm, humid New York summer sun! Some of you probably remember it!
The formula was a lightweight gel and it instantly absorbed into the skin and just gave this soft, matte finish. It never felt dry, makeup didn’t pill under it, and it just eliminated oil and shine in a snap! I used to have a pretty oily forehead and this stuff totally went to battle with it.
I wonder if Secure The Sweat Waterproof Mattifying Primer will work the same way! One thing to note is although this contains squalane (so awesome for hydrating skin) it also contains alcohol as one of the top ingredients. Most dry skin folks won’t love the alcohol addition because facts are facts alcohol is drying as hell. I actually don’t remember if De-Slick in a Tube contained alcohol but I can say it was never drying. Alcohol doesn’t necessarily mean this will totally suck up moisture from your skin as it contains some different hydrating factors. That being said, some people avoid it because not only is it drying but it does break down collagen and with daily use it can break down your skin’s natural barrier.
Regardless, of it having alcohol or not. I have a feeling this might become a very hyped-up superstar product for the brand. People who struggle with oily skin are always looking for something to keep their complexions matte and shine-free especially products that achieve that type of finish all-day. If this works, One/Size will have a hot product release on their hands!
