Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato Perfume is a new warm, spicy, sweet gourmand fragrance with notes of Pistachio Gelato, Cotton Candy, and Whipped Cream. I’m pretty sure every near lost their mind when Kayali started throwing teases about this yummy fragrance up on social media. Excitement was in the air and fragrance lovers were buzzing! I think everyone was hopping for some sort of delicious ice cream scent and maybe just maybe visions of Cheirosa ’62 were running through out heads.

I mean, these notes…..! Cotton candy? Whipped Cream? Pistachio gelato? YES PLEASE! I want all of that. I’ve enjoyed Kayali fragrances since they launched and have collected every bottle they’ve done and I’d like to say this was way before every launch was a big viral Tiktok moment. Nowadays, the brand has really thrown itself into the social scene and Tiktok is rampant with positive reviews on the fragrances. I remember when a lot of fragrance lovers were raising their brows at the prices and saying the brand wasn’t niche enough to charge that amount. Tiktok pretty much made Kayali Vanilla the end all of gourmand vanillas! It’s really a popular fragrance over there. It’s lovely and creamy and gorgeous. It definitely deserves the hype it’s getting!

I did notice as soon as Kayali started gaining momentum on Tiktok the reviews started to ring a little too positive. And sadly, that’s unfortunately what happened with Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato

Unfortunately, controversy and drama happened mighty quickly on this one and there are two sides to the story at the moment. Tiktok is the main source of drama with their being Team 1 of OMG THIS SMELLS LIKE ICE CREAM and Team 2 of This smells nothing like ice cream, the notes are misleading, it’s fresh and green. Right now that’s how things are going on Tiktok. Some people felt the notes were majorly misleading. I personally have to smell it myself before I decide but I have an inkling I’ll be on Team 2.

I was going to blind buy a large bottle as about 85% of my collection was a blind buy and they all turned out great. But after seeing people describe this as “fresh, soapy, a bit green” I was like, “Ok, maybe I need to smell it for myself”. Those whipped cream cotton candy notes had me in a grip and I was ready to throw cash down but after the mixed reviews I think I’m going to wait or just grab a travel spray to test out first!

That being said, I’m here to save the day and tell you that if you want to smell like pistachio ice cream Pistache Pistachio Body Butter will do the trick!
