Truly Coco Cloud Eau de Parfum for Summer 2023 Is 20% Off

Ulta has a 20% Off any single item purchase (non-prestige) (use code 168198 for 20% Off at ulta.com) that can be used on quite a few brands. I decided to take advantage of the offer and grab the new Truly Coco Cloud Eau de Parfum. This is Truly Beauty’s second fragrance release and I’m pretty excited about it since the original Unicorn Fruit Eau de Parfum sort of caught me off guard and I ended up loving it.

Let me tell you about my experience with Unicorn Fruit before I dive into Coco Cloud. I never intended to love Unicorn Fruit because it’s essentially a Pink Sugar dupe of sorts or at least that’s what I thought. I misted this on me randomly while at Ulta and instantly I thought, “ewww Pink Sugar gross!”. I don’t like Pink Sugar at all. I found it headache-inducing. I love gourmands but Pink Sugar just isn’t a scent that works for me. After I misted it on I was prepared for a shower but I was meeting some friends for lunch, we were going to do a bit more shopping, go to the movies and end the day with a late dinner after our shopping and movie. Needless to say, I couldn’t run home to scrub it off.

During that day, something magical happened. When this stuff dries down it becomes such a wonderful spun sugar scent that’s warm and inviting. It’s sugary with bits of caramel. It’s a lot more warmer and sugary than Pink Sugar and it has that beautiful cotton candy note but it’s not one that makes me feel sick. It was a surprisingly beautiful scent that I simply didn’t expect to dry down so lovely.

This alone made me not hesitate when I saw the new Truly Coco Cloud Eau de Parfum and hey that 20% off sweetened the deal! This is a warm tropical floral with notes of creamy coconut, vanilla, and white tea. As per the brand, it’s a sweet, tropical scent. The scent is inspired by Coco Cloud shaving line. I own the shaving butter and it’s a light, creamy coconut scent. I’m wondering if it’ll smell exactly like the shaving line or if it’ll have a bit more pop with the white tea and vanilla.

Mine is on the way! I’ll review it when it arrives.

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty 2023 Is Tired and Boring With a Few Exceptions

It’s that time of the year again! The Ulta 21 Days of Beauty 2023 Sales Event starts at ulta.com and in stores on March 12th and brings us a variety of daily deals on makeup, skincare, and more at 50% off with Free Shipping for Diamond and Platinum Members ($35 order minimum for everyone else). Sadly, the preview of the sale doesn’t show anything to promising and a lot of the deals are tired and boring ones that Ulta regurgitates every year like Shape Tape Foundation, Lancome La Base, Stila Eyeliners, Nudestix Blush Sticks, Urban Decay Lipsticks, etc… Don’t get me wrong as at 50% off these are amazing deals however if you’ve shopped this sale for the past several years you know a lot of these items are offered over and over again at every single Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale that’s done. I honestly feel like a lot of these items we already saw a few short months ago during Christmas Sales like the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks. Those are constantly on sale.

That being said there are some exceptions and some items we can all get excited about. New to the scene this year is Fenty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer which will be $15 during the sale. I’m not a huge fan of this concealer but at $15 it’s a great time to try it if you’re curious! Also, new to the sale is the Benefit Wanderful Blushes. I loved all of these and highly recommend snagging them during the sale! At $15.50 each you won’t find a better deal!

Other items I’d def considering hauling would be the Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plumping Gloss which again are an amazing deal at $12 each! And I’m sure I sound like a tired record but Vitamin Enriched Eye Base Primer & Moisturizer from Bobbi Brown is an incredibly moisturizing undereye base that makes any concealer glide on perfectly. Lorac Pro Palettes are back on sale and yeah, you probably already have them all but if you don’t these are def worth adding to your wish list. The pigment is incredible and at 50% off the value is incredible!

There are some gems here but you def need to weed through the boring stuff that you may have already hauled a dozen times over from past sales. I wish Ulta would do a refresh but I realize they are likely contracted with some of these brands and that may be one the reasons we see the reruns of the same products over and over. For example, the Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Liners will be on sale and I can’t help but wish it was the eyeliners (not that the formula is as great as it once was but it sure is a lot less boring than seeing the lip liners on sale yet again). The sale is great for newcomers but as someone who may have shopped this sale a million times you might just feel a little bored. I know I feel that way but I’ll still stock up on staples and perhaps if I’m lucky try something new as well.
