I hate the beach. Sorry. Since I hate the beach it’s impossible to get beach hair. Beach hair seems absolutely essential to Summer and if I don’t have beach hair I might not be “in”….I must have beach hair at any cost!

Ok..dramatic I know but seriously. I don’t do beaches…sand, sea weed, etc…if God had meant for us to thread around on hot sand, wade in salt water, and have the sun beating on our heads, he’d have given us fins at the very least dontcha think?

Beach hair seems to be the in thing during the Summer months. That slightly damp, mussed up look a la the Little Mermaid. You know hawt tresses that look like you dived into the ocean, spread out on a beach towel, and let the wind dry out your salt laden hair to perfection. Who knew that the beach could do good things for your hair right?

If you aren’t a lover of the beach but still desire the hair that goes along with a trip to the shore peep at my review below!

Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist is awesome hair in a bottle sans the beach. A cocktail of sea salt, extracts of algae, orchid, Tahitian gardenia, aloe vera, oils of kukui and coconut and possible a little bit of sand (ok I made the sand part up) gives tresses texture, body, bounce, volume, and hold for that beach worthy look you’re craving.

God this stuff smells incredible. Can’t we has sniff o’ vision on the Interwebz? I’ll talk to Al Gore and see what we can arrange, the mighty guru of Internet creation. I wish I can explain the scent to you but it’s a bit complex…think fresh, think slightly floral, think…the beach…Maui with a little wowie thrown in there. Loves it!

So what’s it do?

Take your slightly damp hair (or dry but damp gets the best results in my humble opinion) and mist a bit of Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist onto your locks. Don’t comb it through just scrunch it gently if you like or flip it upside down and shake (this works a treat plus you’ll feel like you’re in some shampoo or styling commercial). That’s about it…the results are bouncy, textured locks, with a bit of volume that simply makes you look like you just bounced off the sand.

Beach hair easy and mess free in a bottle plus no sand in unusual places!

You’d never know that Aromaleigh Pure Rouge Blush in Verve would make a fine dupe for NARS Orgasm just by looking at them, swatching the two side by side, or sitting them together. But Verve is indeed quite a nice dupe of Orgasm and possibly more flattering (and definitely more cheaper)

With a price tag of $14.25 ($10.69 on sale now) you can deduct nearly half the price of NARS Orgasm from this little pot of joy. Not quite pink and not all peach but a cross between the two makes Verve a good dupe contender for one of my favorite blushes from NARS, Orgasm.

Although considerably more shimmery and a tad bit on the dirty warm red side, Verve applies to cheeks with a blend of pinks and peaches. The formula is a finely milled powder with a shimmery finish that blends onto cheeks beautifully. The undertones of pink cool the color down from it’s dominant base of peach. It’s a unique shade that can be easily be mistaken for Orgasm once applied but with better pigmentation.

If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative to $25 NARS Orgasm (it’s not an identical twin mind you but not a bad try!) this is one to try. Cheap, pigmented, and pretty it’s a beautiful shade for Summer!

According to an article on Reuters Japanese men are quite obsessed with beautifying themselves.

“Yoshitomo Sango treats his complexion to a face scrub, toner and face cream every morning before strolling to a nearby salon to get his hair done….”

Which brings me to my Musings today. What do you think of men that take part in a daily beauty ritual? Moisturizing? Toning? Maybe even applying powder or foundation….?

These numbers do not shock me in the least. Japan is a culture obsessed with beauty, could be why I love the Japanese so much, and having such a large male audience in the beauty world isn’t any surprise. I think it’s great for a guy to enjoy a beauty regime of any kind he chooses be it skincare or makeup. Any guy that feels skincare is important is so in my ace book plus the Muse has never made any secret over the fact that she loves pretty men!

I’m partitioning Frankie Valli to change the lyrics to Grease is NOT the world in honor of Lush Grease Lighting Spot Treatment.

I have a nice size pimple on the side of my face at the moment which I’m not up for discussing with you but I will for the sake of my review. I applied some Grease Lighting on it last night and the pimple is considerably smaller. I imagine with another dab of this it’ll probably be gone by morning w00t!

The formula is a watery, runny gel which you can tap onto blemishes easily. It’s very gentle so it doesn’t dry out your entire face but it does dry out the area you’re treating however not so much that you’re left with cracked, flaky skin.
