Weekend Bathroom Project, Technical Stuff, and Hi!

Hi there!

Hope everyone is having a good week. Mine has been kind of hellish! Work has been busy, life has been busy, plus I’ve had to deal with a few hiccups on Musings of a Muse. Hopefully things are working ok for you but please, please, please if you experience any problems can you give me a heads up? I’d greatly appreciate it…! Slowness, problems loading, anything just yell at me.

How’s your week going? Hopefully great! What’s your weekend looking like?

I’m going to do a little DIY on one of my bathrooms I plan on ripping the lights above the vanity mirrors and replacing them with something brighter. Wish me luck! I also plan on a little relaxing because I’ve been running myself crazy the last month or so. I had this strange inkling to watch Mannequin again so, I arranged a date with my best friend to sit, eat junk food, and re-watch it.

I also want to pack my bags as I leave for vacation on Thursday. As for the rest of the weekend, totally unplanned! I’ll see where the road leads me.

How about you?

Tell me what’s new in your makeup life (or your real life).

Can’t wait to hear from you all!

A Look at Kat Von D’s Serpentina Eyeshadow Palette, Alchemist Palette, and New Concealers

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Kat Von D Beauty near blew up the Internet with news of the new Serpentina Eyeshadow Palette that launches at Sephora.com on July 5th. If you haven’t heard about it already here’s some details. The palette has six bright metallic shades as well as two matte ones plus you get a loose shimmer pigment which can be used as an overcoat of sorts. The Kat Von Beauty line is no stranger to metallic eyeshadows as they have an entire range of Metal Crush Eyeshadows available and many shades in the Serpentina Eyeshadow Palette look like some of the colors from that range. For example, Nile looks a lot like Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Paranoid!

But there’s no doubt fans of the brand will be obsessing hard over this little palette and it will likely sell out fairly fast on the launch!

There are also new Kat Von D Lock It Concealers launching this July which are inspired by Kat Von D’s popular Lock It Foundation. This is a new pigmented, full coverage concealer that will include a shade called White Out which is a pure white shade that will be great for mixing to lighten up shades.

Maybelline Baby Lips Glow Balm Has Everyone But Me Out of Their Minds

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Maybelline Glow Balm

Everyone is out of their minds about the launch of the new Maybelline Baby Lips Glow Balm ($4.49) except me. Baby Lips Glow Balm is a new pH Color Transforming Lip Balm with the same moisturizing benefits as the original Baby Lips formula but with a color adjusting formula that reacts with your pH and reveals the perfect shade of pinks on your lips.

Baby Lips Glow Balm isn’t new as it has been available in Asia for literally ages. It is however, new to the US market and apparently a beauty editor and blog favorite from what the posts I’m seeing. Every huge beauty editor at the moment is posting about this madly. It’s as if no one in their life has every seen a pH color transforming makeup product before. News flash, people, this isn’t a new idea! Mood lipstick has been around since the 60’s and many, many brands from Stila to Lipstick Queen has taken on the formula. Hell, there are even pH blush formulas that give your cheeks the perfect shade of pink.

But reading about this on beauty sites makes it sound like it is a makeup life changing event! “OMG THE INTERNET BLEW UP BECAUSE THERE’S A NEW MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS GLOW BALM AVAILABLE AT THE DRUGSTORE!”

Sorry, I’m not that excited about this and I’ll tell you why.
