Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder

Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder by Face Studio ($9.99) is a new, permanent translucent setting powder that’s launching with the Maybelline Spring 2016 Collection.

I really love how pro Maybelline is becoming! They kinda remind me of a MAC or Make Up For Ever with all their more “professional” makeup releases and fix products. This year, you’ll be seeing a lot of fix or as I call them pro products launching from Maybelline like makeup setting spray, eyeshadow primers, etc….

I like the idea of these products but also, in some cases, they can be a little expensive. But on that note I will say really simple products like transparent powder is kinda sorta hard to come by at the drugstore. I mean, don’t get me wrong, NYX and E.L.F. carry budget transparent powder but brands like Covergirl, Revlon, etc…don’t readily have one available (they have loose powders but they tend to come in colors versus a straight up silica powder). So that kinda gives Maybelline Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Powder a little bit of game at the drugstore.

But as I said it can be expensive.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick by Color Sensational ($7.99) is range of permanent matte liquid lipsticks available in ten shades that’s launching with the Maybelline Spring 2016 Collection.

Someone got the memo that I hate matte lipsticks and that’s basically how Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks and Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor came about.

Both Maybelline and Revlon have successfully create two matte liquid lipsticks that are comfortable to wear, look amazing, and have incredible wear and color without feeling dry or tight. Bless be! My makeup prayers have been answered.

Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipstick Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipsticks

Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipstick ($21) are a new selection of chocolate inspired liquid lipstick shades that launched with the Too Faced Spring 2016 Collection. Too Faced released these new Liquified Lipsticks in six total shades three of which are the original formula and three of which are metallic.

As much as I love the new Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette I was actually most excited about the Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Lipsticks because I’m some sort of nude lip look thing lately and I felt for sure these colors would be great nudes.

Oops, Was That Not A Tester?

beauty mistakes

This post was inspired by a reader today who was telling me she had mistakenly tried one of Etude House’s new blush sticks. Mistake, how’s that? Well, she unintentionally swatched one of the blush sticks not realizing it wasn’t a tester.

And yes, this has so happened to me.

In particular, this used to happen to me ALL the time at Victoria’s Secret with their little bins of lipgloss. I thought I was swatching a tester and only realized, when it was too late, that it was actually a brand new lipgloss. I will say those gloss bins are sticky so sometimes you think it is a tester and in realize it is a brand new tube someone unwrapped.

Oops!

In my defense, I’ve done this a number of times and I actually recap them and buy them due to my stupidity to make up for the fact I goofed. Needless to say I have a lot of makeup oopsies in my collection, stuff I didn’t even want but ended up buying because I felt guilty about making a really dumb mistake!

But yeah, sometimes I have one of those “OOPS, Was that not a tester!?” moments.

Have you ever had one?
