Product Musings: Majorica Majolica Lash Expander Mascara

Care to Muse Majolica Majorca with me? It’s been a while since I mused Japanese cosmetics. After talking with some of my mates on Twitter today I realized how much I miss musing about on CozyCot about makeup and just posting hauls and such. Good times!

I was inspired to product muse about one of my favorite mascaras soon after. Majolica Majorca Lash Expander is worthy of a muse for sures!

For the longest time Majolica Majorca mascaras were my go to holy grail mascara for longer, fuller lashes. I swear MJ mascara has some magical formula that makes my lashes look incredible. I’ve been so busy testing everything in the sun the past year or so I can’t recall the last time I purchased a new version of MJ mascara. With each new season Majolica Majorca has a knack for introducing a new mascara with a supposedly new and improved formula. Most times the formulas are as incredible as the last but I’m a traditionalist and love the simple old Lash Expander as is.

The design of the mascara is meant for Asian eyes and lashes as the applicator tends to fit the contour of an Asian eye very well and pulls lashes upwards and out. I love it because it always gives my lashes a fuller, longer look. Particularly longer! Many mascaras I’ve tried and none give me as much length as I get from MJ.

It’s my first Japanese love and will remain so ever after. I’ll continue to buy new versions as it releases and I’ll try not to push it aside when I’m busy testing other mascaras as I must remind myself it’s superior to all others. Loves it!

Are you a fan of MJ mascara?

Why or why not?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hi I’ve randomly come across your blog and I love what I see. I’m definitely going to become a regular reader now. I got this mascara on a recent trip to Hong Kong and I agree I love the effect it gives my lashes, but it’s a major pain to get off. My Neutrogena Eye Make-Up remover requires scrubbing to get it off. Do you have any recommedations to get this mascara off?

hi rena yay glad you’re enjoying your time here 😀 I never had a prob getting it off, lots of folks always tell me they have a time of it but I’ve always had no problems. Lancome Bi-Facil is the best for removing it all 😀

I FREAKI HEART JAPANESE MASCARA…ESPECIALLY THIS ONE…I never get enough of their mascara’s my next one will be fairy drops mascara…dying to get it!!

this is one of my fav. mascara since it has nice creamy texture, small applicator (trust me if you have small asian eyes those huge applicators are your life-long enemies) and it holds the curl really well which is the most crucial criteria ( I have wimpy sorry pathetic excuse of lashes which cannot hold any weight)

hey su I agree MJ is great for stubbier lashes 😀 I’m a great lover of MJ mascara for sure!

Hey there! I finally got my hands on this mascara after reading about it here. My problem is with REMOVING it! it’s a nightmare? i used my regular mu remover (Bioderma’s Crealine) which normally gets EVERYTHING off, and it didn’t budge at all. then i thought, oh it’s a warm water pull-off kinda thing (tube mascara) but NOPE! i lost almost a dozen lashes between the both eyes– what gives? 🙁 i want to love it, i swear!

I soo love your reviews. I AM sooo purchasing this but I also heard good things about this one as well. Have you tried it yet and if so, how does it compare? It’s the Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume & Curl Mascara … thank you!

I’m late to this party but I just found this website. LOVE IT! MuseF you wrote that Majolica Majorca mascaras “were” your go to holy grail mascara. Do you have a new one now?

    • the Muse

aw thanks Naomi good to meet you hun. They were yes, I still love them tbh but at the moment i don’t have an HG, I really love Dior Blackout at the moment ;D!

I’m on the eternal search for my HG mascara, one that lengthens, thickens, doesn’t clump, and doesn’t kill a curl (waterproof keeps my curl). I’ve always been a high end girl but for the past year decided to try drugstore brands as I go through mascara like water. Right now I’m using a combo of Maybelline’s Full and Soft (it doesn’t clump!) layering with Maybelline’s Falsies. Not my HG but not bad. Want more drama. Any suggestions?

  • Tenshid

Squee! I just got this yesterday and I have to say, this is the best mascara I’ve ever tried. I combine it with Dramatic Cosmetics’ volume mascara and it looks like I’m wearing falsies. I am having trouble removing it though… I’ll have to find a way…

  • Firnheledien

I found that just plain old baby oil does the trick in removing this amazing mascara. Or any dual phase eye makeup remover. 🙂

I bought this on your recommendation and I’m so happy with it!

    • the Muse

aw that’s brilliant firnheledien ;-D glad you’re liking!
