L’oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser Deep Facial Cleanser Review

Oh I’d say by now everyone’s gotten their grubby, greedy little hands on the new L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Cleansers right? If not you’ve at least seen them at your local Target, CVS, etc…right?

L'oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser 11

Have a little jump to hear my babble on the new L’oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser Deep Facial Cleanser.

For the sake of blogging I did indulge in three of the four formulas of the new L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Cleansers. See that’s how I justify my crazy beauty habits, “but it’s for the blog….I have to tell my peeps that read my crazy babbling about the new bits popping up….it’s for the blog…” Pretty good excuse right?

L'oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser Deep Facial Cleanser1

Anyway.

As I said I got three and I though I’d do individual reviews on each because they all did react a bit different on my skin and produced different results and such. Cool?

Today I’m doing the Deep Facial Cleanser which is the green version.

What L’Oreal says:

  • Smaller pores: Go 360 Clean shrinks the appearance of pore size and refinishes the skins surface to reveal skin with more clarity
  • Deeper cleansing: Unique formulas reach down deeper to every last pore for a deep, deep clean. Keeps pores clean day after day
  • Softer skin: Sweeps away dead skin cells for an extraordinary softening and smoothing effect

So…..let’s break this up for a well rounded review.

First of all it’s a gel formula that smells very fresh and very clean. Love the scent! It’s supposed to smell of orange flower and mint but I don’t really get either, mostly it’s almost like a fresh shampoo scent, quite pleasant.

As you know it comes with a scrublet which is simply a cleansing disc with a rubbery feel and super soft points. I like the scrublet very much. If Santa failed to get you that Clarisonic brush you so desperately wanted go grab yourself a scrublet, it produces similar results, not as great mind you but it’s the cheap girl’s dupe. It works fabulously. It doesn’t feel harsh on my skin as I originally though it would. It’s soft and works up the 360 Cleanser into a nice foam. Honestly, if I fail to use the cleanser in the future I can still very much see myself taking advantage of using this little guy.

L'oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser Deep Facial Cleanser3

L'oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser Deep Facial Cleanser4

L’Oreal says the formula will help reduce oily areas and dry skin patches but that’s simply not the case sadly.

Here’s the deal. If you have oily skin and larger pores L’oreal Go 360 Clean Cleanser Deep Facial Cleanser may produce good results for you. Normal to dry skin may experience drying which is the case for me.

Ok…let’s see.

First off my skin is behaving normally lately. I’m very dry in the Winter, flaky dry, tight, itchy dry….but I’ve been re-testing a Clarisonic Brush plus using Skin Food moisturizers and it seems to have made my skin perform very normal. No oily forehead, no flakes…..

My first try with this cleanser was fabulous. I love how it foams, I love how it feels like it’s REALLY getting in there and deep cleaning my skin. Dry off my skin and the trouble crops up. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean however it also leaves it tight and dry. My 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th test out and still the same results. It foams wonderfully, really gives a good deep clean, but still I’m left with very tight, dry skin. After moisturizer it goes back to normal ever so slightly but I’m unsure at this point if I’ll continue to abuse myself with it.

Overall,I’ll probably ditch it in the long run as I can’t afford having my skin suffer through a dry, patchy period, I was getting to used to it performing normally. However, I feel like it would perform very well for oily skin and larger pores which is why I do urge anyone with such a skin type to try it out, it may likely work. Anyone with normal, dry skin may see the same results as me.

I wanted to love it but I just couldn’t.

No likey.

Stay tuned as I’ll be reviewing the other formulas in this line very shortly.

If you’ve tried L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Cleansers I’d really love to hear your results!

Tell ‘em!

These are available now at your local drugstore. I suggest Target for purchase as it’s the cheapest with a price of $5.49.

I haven’t seen these in Sweden yet but I hope they will get here later on. I’m curious to hear how the other cleansers worked for you and your dry skin since my skin is also dry.

I have very oily skin and large pores, so this might be the perfect product for me! And I’m loving the idea of the scrub brush (if it’s soft). Thanks for the great review, Muse.

the Muse December 30, 2009 at 1:14 pm

oh it’s very very soft Katherine. It feels lovely on the skin I love the scrublet! I think for oily skin this could be a god sent. Sadly it dried me out! But I’m gonna give a re-try come summer when I’m a tad more oily :)

dina December 30, 2009 at 1:00 pm

I stumbled upon this review because several of my friends have bought this brand of facewash. There is a formula for “sensitive skin” available; in the stores it’s a white bottle with a blue scrubber thing. Most cleansers I have tried have just dried my skin out, but this one is actually really good. I suggest you try the sensitive skin formula. I still get the really clean feeling, but without the annoying dryness and tight skin.

Reply

the Muse February 16, 2010 at 11:24 am

that’s no one! lots of folks suggested I go with the sensitive so I might just do that! As the other three were harsh on my skin!

steelnpurple December 30, 2009 at 1:28 pm

I will have to skip this one, I have dry skin and the winter weather is not making it any better so to speak. Sounded interesting though, great idea to include a scrublet like that!
Looking forward to the other two reviews!

stealnpurple no go…dry skin users beware. made me tight and itchy! :P Love the scrublet :-D are you oily by chance in the Summer? I’m hoping this will go in Summer when I face a shiny forehead!

Regarding the Clarisonic giveaway that you are hopefully putting the results up soon for:

I have Psoriasis. When stress in my life gets really bad, my skin breaks out enormously. I actually had to go to a large portion of my high school days with a hat, all throughout the classes. My face is currently so bad that I can’t even wear foundation, powder, whatever….if I do, mainly around my nose and inner cheek area around my nose, it cakes up and looks five billion times worse. So I end up having to walk around with my skin looking terrible and I think that something like the Clarisonic might help my skin greatly….it wouldn’t fix my skin condition, but if I used it regularly, I’m sure that it would be much easier to apply makeup to look my best every day. I cannot afford half of the stuff I would like in order to care for my skin, so this would be a miracle…you would be like Jesus to me…seriously… I know that you are probably doing random drawings, but if you might consider peoples situations for the clarisonic giveaway specifically, please consider mine…..

I know I am asking a lot, but I hope you will understand…

hi paloma.

wow I’m really sorry to hear about your skin woes! I believe a fellow blogger friend, SarahPuffy, suffers from psorasis as well. She had some really bad dry skin days. I have flaky crazy going on at times too but not psoriasis related.

I’d honestly love it if I had a brush to give to every single reader that logs on just to say thank you for stopping by daily, commenting, and reading my blog. I’ve met and chatted to so many wonderful people in the past few years of blogging I wish I had a little gift to give them all.

Sadly, I can’t really just give you the brush. I think alot of readers would be pretty upset if I favored any one person as the winner that’s why it’s a random giveaway and a winner is selected randomly…that makes it fair for everyone who entered because honestly if I was just going to gift it away to someone I wouldn’t have the little contest for everyone to join in on you know? Also the contest ended a while ago and the winner was selected and already got the brush.

I hope you understand. All the giveaways are random and I don’t make special exceptions for anyone who enters otherwise as I said it would be pointless to do a giveaway at all.

Good Luck on the other giveaways you entered on Musings, I hope you win!!!!!!!

Happy (almost) New Year hun!

Hi, I love your site…it was the first beauty site I ever found and I have been a faithful reader eversince……but….why do you review things that aren’t for you? Such as reviewing this cleanser for oily skin when you say you h ave super dry skin? Of course you won’t like it and it won’t work for you…it is not meant to. I was just wondering because sometimes I get confused as to whether it is a bad product…or just bad for you??? Thanks and keep up the great work.

Reply

the Muse December 31, 2009 at 11:35 am

hi paige/sarah.

Thanks for reading my blog appreciate it! This is the Deep Facial Cleanser formula is meant for Combination Skin, Normal Skin according to L’Oreal. The cleanser is not meant for oily skin only. I fit into the normal skin at the moment as my skin has been behaving normally as I mentioned in my review. After using the cleanser, which is meant for normal skin (which is my skin), it made me feel dry and tight. Can you explain how I confused you? As I think I covered everything in the review and explained my own skin type at the moment, how to use the cleanser, how it felt after I used it, and how I think it would be good for oily skin after experiencing the dryness.

Let me know what I missed or explain how I am confusing you and I’ll do my best to help.

Hello!
I was wondering if this cleanser had any medication or salicylic acid to help with acne. I am in my teens and having a bit of a struggle. Do you think this cleanser is worth a try?

Reply

the Muse January 4, 2010 at 8:48 pm

hi morgan this isn’t an acne treatment wash and doesn’t contain salicylic acid hun. You are prob best going with something else for that specific need particularly something high end if you can afford it as over the counter just doesn’t cut it for acne. Try Lush Herbalism.

andrea January 11, 2010 at 7:46 pm

I currently use Clinique’s three step plan and exfoliate. Hurry up and post the other reviews so I can decide if I am going to give any of them a run. I, too, have dry skin in the winter and combination in Florida’s spring, summer, and fall. I was hoping to simplify my current regiment.

It’s only 5.49 at target so u might wanna give a whirl and see if it’ll simplify and cheapfiy your skincare :-D

Dear Muse,
I recently saw this in my new issue of Seventeen, and was quickly won over by the Scrublet. I had been looking for something to treat my mild acne, and didn’t dry out my face. So I hopped on Amazon, and researched the different kinds. In the end, I ordered the Sensitive Skin one, hoping that it wouldn’t dry out my skin. I have normal skin with small pores, so I shure am giddy that I didn’t order the green one, though I’m sorry it dried out your skin. I cannot wait to hear your other reviews, but I would like to know: Did it treat your acne? and Do you clean your face twice a day with this, or only once?

Reply

the Muse January 4, 2010 at 8:43 pm

hi Twiga :) I’m not sure if treats acne from an ingredient stand point it doesn’t contain anything in the way of curing acne plus I rarely have pimples so can’t speak from my own experience with the product. I’m doubtful it’ll do much aside from closing pores up and drying skin up if you happen to have oily skin. But aside from that the acne you might want to depend on something else for.

So far my testing is a fail as most of the line is drying me out bad :( Please stop back soon after you’ve test and let us know how it’s working for you, curious :)

Hey, I’ve been looking for something to treat my mild acne (sometimes
none, sometimes 6-10 small spots where I break out) and had been considering this. Previously I’ve used the Neutrogena Wave, which worked well, but haven’t used it for a couple weeks after it stopped working (I think water got inside it :/). I usually clean my face at night with the Wave, and then use Aveda Outer Peace acne relief moisturizer (0.5% salicylic acid). Should I go with the Loreal instead of the Wave, and should I keep my routine? Thanks for the help!

Reply

the Muse January 11, 2010 at 4:55 pm

ian as far as I know these do not contain anything to treat acne….I really can’t tell you whether to keep your current routine or change it hun. Products vary so much it’s difficult to say with acne. I don’t have much of a spot problem myself so I really can’t tell you the best way to treat it and particularly can’t say of the 360 cleanser will work. I’m sorry :( I’d read further reviews to see if anyone has a good success treating acne with the product as I know my skin is normal at the moment and it simply dried me out. That was my experience with it.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

So, After I use this cleaner, I put on clinique’s facial lotion and its a great combo. So my skin wont be dry after I clean it.

Its the only one I’ve tried so far, but I really am impressed. And ditto on the scrubblet…I thought it was gimicky but I really like it. I’m actually in process of writing about it now!

So I boutthe Go 360 deep cream cleanser a couple of days ago, the first time i used it my face felt fresh and clean, the second time i used it i was given the same wonderful results. I don’t use any other products, my skin is normal not too oily and not too dry, however when I stress out my oil levels tend to hit the roof and well bring on the acne right! lol well on the third time i used it, i woke up the next morning with my face extremely tight (almost like your face is about to peel after a really bad sunburn) and my face was extremely red, I’m still waiting for my face to calm down, I don’t know what to say about this product. Oh yea, I forgot to mention, my face is really itchy too.

Reply

the Muse February 1, 2010 at 3:15 pm

same problems here Angela but not after three or four times use. First use I had a problem with it. Thankfully no burning but itchy, tight, flaky…my skin just didn’t love these sadly. I blame the mint, seems to be menthol in three of the four and that could be what’s causing your skin to freak out :(

Medium February 18, 2010 at 10:06 am

I purchased the Deep Cream Cleanser(Pink Scrubbie) at first when i used it i thought: well this is great! Its smells okay and i LOVE, LOVE the scrubbie. Then came time to rinse and pat dry. This stuff doesnt rinse clean. My face felt sticky. I had to re-rinse my face several times in order for my towel not to stick when i was patting my face dry. I assumed that i may have used to much (quarter size) so the next day i reduced the amount i used to a nickle size amount STILL it did not rinse clean. HOWEVER, I was elated to see that my pores seemed smaller and my skin had a nice glow. BUT, by day 6 the area around my mouth began to dry excessively i got a really rough dry patch in the corner of my mouth (NOT SEXY AT ALL, LET ME TELL YOU) even after applying moisturizer, this dry patch started to peel (EVEN LESS SEXY). I’m left with a dark mark that i am applying coco butter to clear up the spot(coco butter is great for things like this). I will have to say that in comparision to Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Facial cleanser Loreal needs to get back in the lab and try the formula again. I will give “Go 360 Clean” a 1.5 out of 5 stars because the pores did appear smaller. Go 360 Clean fails for not rinsing clean off, over drying the skin and for not including directions as to frequency of use on the back of the package. I should have never stepped out on my relationship with Neutrogena. The grass is NOT greener on the other side.

the Muse March 3, 2010 at 7:17 pm

aw sorry to hear it medium! I had a bad experience with it too and I’d say I’m at around a 1 rating too…the only reason I’d consider going higher was b/c the scrublet was a nice extra and really worked well!

I just wanted to point out that storing the scrubby in the bottle as indicated may not be such a good idea, because a lot of moisture will be trapped, which would be a great place for germs and bacteria to grow and contaminate your results. BUT, this cute little scrubber has a suction cup on the end of it, which means you can stick it to your mirror, shower wall, or tiled bathroom wall so that it can dry better!

Reply

the Muse February 25, 2010 at 4:31 pm

hi kels thanks so much for the info. I normally dry it out prior to storing it so that shouldn’t be a prob.

the Muse February 28, 2010 at 3:05 pm

hi lindsey did you read my review :) I have this review and another which both speak rather poorly of the product so def not up for recommending them at all after what they did to my skin! Hope this helps, maybe re-read the review as I have all the info in the reviews about how I didn’t like the product. After the way it dried me out, caused my skin to feel two sizes too small, and just made me all flaky and itchy I def wouldn’t recommend for a purchase although I guess it depends on your skin type as some people had great success with them, I sadly did not :P

it can be a little drying, you need a good moisturizer with it. but, breaking out isnt a bad thing. it means that the cleanser has opened your pores enough to draw up deep down impurities. when the break out heals the skin will be much clearer and brighter.

Emma March 7, 2010 at 2:32 am

Currently I am using the Philsophy facial cleanser from Sephora and it is doing good, but I have a problem with oil in my T-zone and the occasional dry skin in spots near my jaw. Dry skin isn’t really a problem for me, and I don’t want it to be if I try this product. On the other hand my other oily skin problem is completely taking control of my beauty life. I messes up my make-up by wearing away and discoloring it, or just going through it making me look as if I had a runny nose or I just took a drink of water and missed my mouth. It is very dreadful and if this product says that it can help me there, I would like to believe it. I am desperate to fix up this oil problem, but I don’t know if I want to risk more occasional dry skin along with it. What do you suggest? Oh, and so your answer is fully helpful, you must know that I am only 13 years of age and I live in a small town with no Target. Just a Wal-Mart and Walgreens, but I don’t think they sell the product. Please respond, it will forever help my curiosity.

the Muse March 7, 2010 at 11:22 am

Hi Emma. Perhaps you should try a good primer prior to wearing your makeup. Sometimes that will prep and prime your skin and mattify it before your foundation application also a good mattifying powder as well.

I hope this helps!

Emma March 7, 2010 at 2:40 am

Sorry for a 2nd bother, but since I am a teenager I am presently using acne care products, and I don’t need anymore. Does this product contain any sylsic acid or any other acne fighting ingredient? Oh, I have another question. Sorry about my curiousity, but when you have a chance to get answers, you should always take all your control of it. Lots of boeauty consultants say that if you have oily skin, but don’t want to leave your current wonderful cleanser, then find an every other day strong scrub. Could I use this as a scrub that I would use everyother day and it won’t effect my normal routine? Well, except help my oiliness. PLEASE responf :)

Reply

the Muse March 7, 2010 at 11:20 am

Hi Emma.

Yup this does contain salicylic acid. I’m not really sure about recommending it as an every other day scrub, you can try it out and see if it works. I personally ditched it completely after testing because it destroyed my skin and made me dry, tight, and itchy. I find skincare is a very personal thing and it’s a matter of error and omission, testing, and trying to see what works best for you. Perhaps you’d like to stick with your own regime as it is and try using it as a scrub to see what happens.

Good Luck!

Renee March 13, 2010 at 4:59 pm

I would never recommend this cleasing system to any of my clients. Sodium Laureth Sulfate should always be avoided. There are also several salicylic acids and betain (beet enzyme, very exfoliating) as well as benzoyl – some of these ingredients work for some people so Loreal just threw them all in to cover their bases. This product is completely stripping of oil and you will end up with a compromised barrier layer and compeltely dehydrated. You don’t need the scrubber. Just use a wash cloth morning and night and really do a thorough job with it and you’ll be much better off.
In the skin care world dry means laking oil and dehydrated means lacking water.
Please understand that you can not make your oil go away! All you can do is manage it. Teens make a lot of skin very quickly and the oily types tend to make a lot of oil. You want your oil to flow when ever possible. But during the day that is very inconvenient. A primary ingredient for absorbing excess oil is nylon-12 which is a mattifying agent found in many cosmetics.

i tried the deep cream cleanser, and the minute i put it on my face, it actually felt like a massage on my face! Though it did not have a nice fruity scent which i like. i give the loreal go 360 clean cream cleanser a 9/10!

Hey, I am using the orange one (deep exfoliating) and I love it. It was drying out my skin at first. Then I remembered a little tip I heard about moisturizing right after washing, and well that must have done the trick. I also stopped scrubbing as hard. Anyway, my skin looks and feels great now. I do have a slightly oily T-zone as they call it, so maybe that it why. Or, maybe the orange one is the better one! Haha, can’t wait to see your other reviews.
