Stila Love at First Blush Review & Swatches

Stila Love at First Blush 11

Stila’s legendary Make Me Blush was the star of my Spring 2011 haul.

At a mere $14 it was such a sweet little treat last year.

I was obviously excited when Stila gifted us this year with Love at First Blush but I must admit the peachiness of Make Me Blush still reigns supreme in my blush world.

Let’s take a look at the Stila Love at First Blush.

Stila Love at First Blush 10

Embossed with endearing pink hearts this blush features three shades of graduating pink. The compact is a hefty 0.22 oz in size (that’s a little bigger than the size of a MAC blush) and you’ll be paying a mere $14 for all that product. Quite a steal.

Stila creates some very cute, whimsical budget pieces lately but sometimes quality does suffer however the same can’t be said for this second generation blush release. It’s just as lovely as the original released last year in terms of formula, pigmentation, and ease of application.

The shades graduate from a soft, almost lilac pink, to a bubblegum pink, and end with a more vibrant shade of pink. Unlike last year’s release this features a soft, shimmery finish that isn’t an overspray. The sparkle does buff gently away with a little TLC during application.

You can use the shades individually to accent and highlight your face or just swirl, tap, and buff onto your cheeks like me. Combined, the shades create a cool shade of pink on cheeks and face.

The blush has a soft, silky feel and blends easily onto cheeks for a smooth, flawless finish with a hint of sparkle. The shade probably won’t show up well on darker skin types but fair, medium, tanned, and olive should be able to take advantage easily as it has a nice color pay off that should work well for most skin tones.

Overall, at $14, it’s a damn nice little budget pick. The presentation is of course what makes it the most appealing as those hearts are just so cute! Plus at this price dare I say it’s better than the Happy Booster Blushes from Physicians Formula which run around the same price.

Lovely!! Sephora has it with 2 lip glosses like they did last year, can’t say I’m a fan of Stila’s gloss especially the packaging.

So pretty! Maybe this will be my February blush (I’m limiting myself to one blush a month this year, which now that I think about it, is still an awful lot of blush).
