Maybelline Nude Pink Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Maybelline Nude Pink Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow

Maybelline Nude Pink Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is, as you know, one of three new matte limited edition shades of Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow that launched with the Maybelline Gilded in Gold Collection for Holiday 2013.

Far be it from me to rave a matte eyeshadow but I must say this shade is just incredible. This is a basic, essential shade of matte that will work all its own or as a base for your favorite matte of shimmer eyeshadow shades.

Take a look!

Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Shadow formula has been inconsistent with the last few releases in my opinion. Maybe you had a great time with the most recent Summer 2013 shades but many of those were a very slippery difficult to apply texture that I wasn’t personally keen on.

So I’m very happy to report that I experienced none of those issues with the Maybelline Nude Pink Color Tattoo Eyeshadow. This formula takes things back to the first launch as the texture is dense yet creamy, easy to apply, quick to set but still plenty of time to blend out, and a formula that doesn’t slip, slide, or crease on my drier eyes.

If you’re into bold, dramatic looks it goes without saying Nude Pink is going to be uneventful for you. It’s a sheerer shade that doesn’t provide a ton of color so brace yourself for that. I personally love the color as it creates a perfect nude eye. It quite reminds me of Trish McEvoy Demure Eye Base Essentials for some reason. This is a lighter pink with a bit of a mauve undertone. If you favor a winged lined eye this is a shade that won’t interfere or take away from a dramatic eyeliner look. Or if you’re like me and sometimes want eyeshadow on but don’t want a ton of it and just a touch of subtly this is a great shade for that. And of course, it works wonderful as a base as well to intensity the shadow of a softer matte powder shadow or to allow for loose eyeshadows or minerals to apply easier minimizing fall out.

Overall, Nude Pink is one of those shades that might require a back up! I really liked this one and was very impressed with the formula. I located it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and also saw a rather empty display at Harmons but I suspect it’ll get a wider launch very soon!

This gains a Muse Approval.

Try not to panic, throw yourself off a cliff, or start yelling at me for reviewing the shade. It’s ok, don’t worry, I understand how frustrating limited edition products are. If you recall Maybelline Coral Blush was really difficult to find and later on large end cap displays started popping up at Walgreens with it. So I suspect the Maybelline Gilded in Gold Collection might be the same!

Thanks for the review and I’m really curious how you like the other 2 colors! I’ve been looking all over in my area but I haven’t found any yet! I’m hoping it’s because they are just starting the launch and it will become more available a bit later!

The nude pink looks great, I will grab it if I can find it.

I don’t know why but it reminds of a MAC paint pot. It seems a tad darker than Painterly? What do you say, Muse?

huh? two very different shades not comparable at all Sajeda….? you confused me there :)

It is similar to Painterly. There is a swatch that I saw that compares nude pink to Painterly. Nude pink is a bit darker, you’re right. Someone also suggested that Just Beige could be similar to the paint pot Soft Ochre, but a little more yellow.

So glad someone asked this question. This is what I hoped Stormy Pink would look like, though I do love my paint pot. Must find this at my local stores! It is going to be so hard…

          • 10/4/13 19:42 Kate:

I just got home and immediately did swatches and you’re so right. I love the dusty pink of Nude Pink but still love the almost grey purple of Stormy Pink. I think I need help…

I’m so glad someone asked about the comparison to Painterly and Stormy Pink paint pots. I was wondering the exact same thing when I first saw this color and agree with what Christina commented that I had hoped that Stormy Pink would be more like this. While Stormy Pink is pretty is it maybe a little more purply then I had hoped.

I have not spotted this collection yet at drugstores near me. :( I always seem to miss out on these amazing neutral limited edition shades, but I really want this one, especially b/c the formula is good. It is so subtle and I have been wanting a mauve-pink shade. :) I thought it might be a dupe MAC’s stormy pink, but good to know they’re different.

Hi Muse! Thanks so much for reviewing Color Tat in Nude Pink! Even though I am on an indefinite “no buy,” due to budget/financial concerns and the fact that I need more makeup like another hole in my head, I really really want this! I searched around here and it wasn’t even in BB&B yet. Darn. San Diego is behind the times and right now, even though I love my city, I wish I were over where you live to take part of those spooky Halloween festivities in your Historical, Sleepy Hallow, Real Autumn part of the country! Back to Nude Pink, it’s beautiful and I will break my no buy to have it. I only have Tough As Taupe in CT and like the consistency, performance, etc. Happy October and Have a Spooky Halloween!

I’m in the Bay Area and I’m not seeing these anywhere either, including BB&B. I’m hoping we’ll be getting these soon, because I’m really interested in the Nude Pink and the matte brown color!

I also thought of Mac Painterly. Swatched on my skin, Mac Painterly looks a lot like the swatch here.

Muse – I am SOOOO happy right now. To my surprise I was just at our local Christmas Tree Shoppes and turns out they have a Harmons(face values) section inside! (who knew?!) And……. I FOUND THIS!!! I finally find it! They had the whole gilded in gold collection! But it was mighty small display :) I freaked out and bought the only 2 nude pink color tattoos in case they don’t end up adding these to the perm line. (which hopefully they do).
