Maybelline Nude Pink Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Maybelline Nude Pink Color Tattoo Eyeshadow is, as you know, one of three new matte limited edition shades of Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow that launched with the Maybelline Gilded in Gold Collection for Holiday 2013.
Far be it from me to rave a matte eyeshadow but I must say this shade is just incredible. This is a basic, essential shade of matte that will work all its own or as a base for your favorite matte of shimmer eyeshadow shades.
Take a look!
Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Shadow formula has been inconsistent with the last few releases in my opinion. Maybe you had a great time with the most recent Summer 2013 shades but many of those were a very slippery difficult to apply texture that I wasn’t personally keen on.
So I’m very happy to report that I experienced none of those issues with the Maybelline Nude Pink Color Tattoo Eyeshadow. This formula takes things back to the first launch as the texture is dense yet creamy, easy to apply, quick to set but still plenty of time to blend out, and a formula that doesn’t slip, slide, or crease on my drier eyes.
If you’re into bold, dramatic looks it goes without saying Nude Pink is going to be uneventful for you. It’s a sheerer shade that doesn’t provide a ton of color so brace yourself for that. I personally love the color as it creates a perfect nude eye. It quite reminds me of Trish McEvoy Demure Eye Base Essentials for some reason. This is a lighter pink with a bit of a mauve undertone. If you favor a winged lined eye this is a shade that won’t interfere or take away from a dramatic eyeliner look. Or if you’re like me and sometimes want eyeshadow on but don’t want a ton of it and just a touch of subtly this is a great shade for that. And of course, it works wonderful as a base as well to intensity the shadow of a softer matte powder shadow or to allow for loose eyeshadows or minerals to apply easier minimizing fall out.
Overall, Nude Pink is one of those shades that might require a back up! I really liked this one and was very impressed with the formula. I located it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and also saw a rather empty display at Harmons but I suspect it’ll get a wider launch very soon!
This gains a Muse Approval.
Try not to panic, throw yourself off a cliff, or start yelling at me for reviewing the shade. It’s ok, don’t worry, I understand how frustrating limited edition products are. If you recall Maybelline Coral Blush was really difficult to find and later on large end cap displays started popping up at Walgreens with it. So I suspect the Maybelline Gilded in Gold Collection might be the same!
