Catrice Strobing Blush ($6.99) is a new highlighter slash blush that adds a touch of color to cheeks while providing a luminous, strobing effect without the need to add highlighter. So, I should tell you I’m in love with blushes that act as a highlighter as well. Why? Because I don’t really like highlighter! One reason would be because I suck at application. Another would be because I have a fuller face and I feel like I can’t find my cheek bones. I swear, I don’t even think I have cheek bones. If I smile all you get are the apples of my cheeks no arch to add highlighter to. I use the Tyra Banks method of applying my blush. Smile, dab on the apples of my cheeks, and go.

So, yeah highlighter is like a complete no go for me most days of my life. But I don’t feel that way about shimmery blushes or blushes that have a hybrid formula that act like a blush and a highlighter all-in-one. They just seem easier to apply and they give me that luminous glow I love without a ton of no how and I’m cool with that.

That’s where Catrice Strobing Blush comes into play. It’s subtle color and just a touch of sheen not to mention it’s totally budget friendly.

Here’s the deets.

Catrice Strobing Blush is available in two shades selections and arrives in a clear plastic compact that holds 0.15 oz of product. Catrice Strobing Blush reminds me a lot of Essence Satin Touch Blush in the fact it is simple, easy to use, and gives a nice hint of sheen and color on my cheeks. I wouldn’t say there is any hardcore shimmer or sparkle here but it does give a nice healthy sheen and just a touch of color that’s subtle and ideal for people like me who are heavier handed when applying their blush.

The blush is created with two darker shades and two lighter one of which has a luminous finish. The texture is soft, silky, and applies and blends out oh so easily on my cheeks without adhering to drier areas or applying frosty. Pigmentation is very soft, natural, and pretty so don’t expect a bold, popping blush here. This is delightfully sheer and subtle and looks quite natural and pretty. The color and the hint of sheen it provided lasts a solid eight hours on my cheeks without disappearing or fading.

I tend to like bold blushes that give my cheeks a nice pop but I must admit it is a refreshing change to get a nice, natural sheen without overdoing my blush as I’ve been known to do.

All in all, Catrice Strobing Blush is a refreshingly affordable way to get a nice luminous hint of color on my cheeks without a ton of effort.

Likey!

This is so pretty and would be perfect for spring. I’m like you…I don’t like highlighter! Maybe use it once or twice a year so this would be great to use.

Glad you reviewed this. Have been thinking about it. I love Catrice, in general, and am pretty pissed that U d/c’d their matte singles. They were really excellent, better than most CPs, felt really HE. Boo, Ulta!

I love shimmery blushes because they’re so quick and easy. I’m using Milani baked blush right now, but can be a little too shimmery at times so this looks like a good option for lighter makeup days!
