Kiko Jelly Stylo Lipstick is the way to go if you want to bring back glossy lips and be damned with all those matte, long-wearing liquid lipsticks. Not to mention these are affordable as hell at a mere $10 bucks each.

I’m done with the matte lip look. Actually I was never into it to begin with. As someone prone to dry lips I prefer a glossier, shiny lip look. This might be why I favor Japanese lipsticks so much as they tend to release mostly glossy, shiny lipsticks which seems a rarity here in the US as we tend to stick to satins, creams, or mattes.

I was every so delighted with Kiko launched their Jelly Stylo Lipstick Collection a few months ago and quickly snapped up a few shades and to this day I don’t regret to purchase and have actually used two of the shades up featured in this review. When you’re a makeup junkie with a large collection and you actually finish a lipstick that’s a major accomplishment and a testimony that the formula is good enough to use daily.

If glossy wet lips are what you seek for Spring looks you’ll need these Kiko Jelly Stylo Lipsticks.

Kiko Jelly Stylo Lipstick is available in 14 shade selections each of which comes in a rounded silver bullet barrel with a rose gold Kiko clasp sporting the brand’s initials to keep them closed. One irratating thing about the packaging is the fact that both sides of the barrel around rounded which means these won’t stand by by themselves. The lipsticks are fairly small at 0.07 oz in size as at the drugstore you can likely get a lipstick from Maybelline or Revlon that’s twice in size at a cheaper price of $6-$8 dollars where as these are $10 each. I’d personally spend the $10 on the smaller size any damn day of the week since the formula is absolutely beautiful.

This formula is light, balmy, slick, and lightly emollient. It glides onto lips easily and smoothly. The color is opaque on a single application and with a high shine finish that looks like clear gloss was applied on top of your lipstick. They have a certain lightly slick balminess that feels quite hydrating on my lips and wear around four hours losing some shine as they head into two and a half hours of wear but still retaining a nice sheen. The finish is very smooth and didn’t fall into my natural lip lines nor adhere to drier areas on my lips.

I can’t express how beautiful these look on my lips. The shine is gorgeous and the formula feels very hydrating and nourishing without migrating or moving around due to that softer, glossier texture.

All in all, a beautifully formulated lipstick from Kiko but really, the brand’s lipsticks have always been incredible so this comes as no great surprise.
