Although it has it’s cult following Maquillage is not my favorite branch of Shiseido cosmetics. Maquillage has some seriously great releases just nothing that every caught my eye so much that I was panting after it!
However, after much debate I decided to indulge in a Shiseido Maquillage Neo Climax Lip after reading quite a few raves for this particular item.
Neo Climax Lip is a combination lipstick and gloss that comes in a rather slick push up style packaging. I love the packaging and the applicator. Twist and the applicator saturates with color, swipe across lips and done! The applicator is a smooth plastic head which I normally don’t fancy but in this case it works very well and fits comfortably to the contour of your lips while delivering color and gloss.
The formula is where the problems begin for me with this one. You may recall my review on L’Oreal Infalliable Lipgloss and one of my main rants with the product was the strange waxy feeling of the gloss Neo Climax Lip happens to sport a similar formula. Although I like both glosses it’s very difficult getting used to having a waxy film on your lips. In all fairness this particular formula allows the gloss to have super long lasting power however dealing with it all day is difficult. It just just feels like I have a mask around my lips which is rather weird.
Aside from my rant about the formula I have to say that the color I picked is so outstanding that I’ll definately be using this again even though the formula isn’t to my liking.
The color is a very light shimmering shade of peachy pink that matched so perfectly with my skin tone and just brightened up my entire face. It gave me both a look of health and innocence that was simply stunning or at least I thought so. I don’t have the number for this color at the moment but I’ll correct this post later today with the correct number. I believe it was PK 356 but don’t quote me on that.
I’ve been looking for a color like this my entire life it seems. It’s just a combination of peachy, pink, and sports that natural look to your lips.
I simply love it.
I was so deeply impressed with the color I’ve decided to Muse Approve Shiseido Maquillage Neo Climax Lip for purchase. I think I will be indulging in a few more colors and if they are anything like the one I tried I’m sure to be VERY pleased.
The Muse likes this one and is temporarily putting bad formulas aside and entertaining her joy for an amazing color!

Why hasn’t the Asian rage of moisture sheet face and eye mask caught on in the US? It’s so standard for an Asian girl in any Asian country (Japan, Korea, China, Etc…) to walk down to her local drugstore and pick up some moisture masks for a few dollars, take them home, and spoil herself with a cooling, refreshing, moisturizing mask!
We have nothing like this in the US.
We are a deprived and hungry nation full of rabid woman that want to indulge in a simple sheet moisture mask but are unable to get any, anywhere (aside from the occasional Asian drugstore or market).
It saddens me that we have an array of all the wrong products in drugstores right now. Nothing comes close to what you can locate in drugstores in any Asian country.
Ok, ok so maybe it was a bit dramatic to say we are deprived..maybe I should re-word and say we have a few sheet masks available but they are extremely high end and costly as hell. Sheet masks are available for mere pennies abroad and seriously I can’t understand why it’s never caught on here in the States! The same goes for Cleaning Oil! Knock, Knock, hello beauty world it’s your wake up call calling! Get with the bloody program!
Now that I’ve ranted about our lack of good product I’ll go on with my review and say for 523 yen I can get 5 sheets of of Lifecella Eye Masks. That’s a deal and a half my friends.
I’ve used sheet eye masks before but I’ve always wanted to try the Lifecella ones and I’m happy to have gotten my hands on some that a lovely friend sent over from Japan recently.
These are pre-soaked sheets that are contoured perfectly to the eye fitting the complete under eye all the way up to the corner of the eye to reach any crows feet, fine lines, etc..you might be having in that area. I don’t personally, thank god, have crows feet yet however I can appreciate the added moisture to this area.
These are dry already but they are heavily saturated with lotion when removed from the package!
My eyes are dry as I’ve been known to rant about in prior posts and Lifecella are soaked in a nice cooling, moisturizing lotion that feels delightfully refreshing my under eyes. I can feel my eyes sigh in relief when I put these on.
I normally leave them on an hour or until they dry up and afterwards I simply pat the beautiful moisture left over from each sheet onto my eyes. These are super soaked so you’ll have plenty of cooling moisturize being sucked up.
The best part is these do a fab job of calming my puffy, tired eyes plus adding much needed moisture that my dry skin is hungry for. The masks or pads (whichever you prefer to call them) are large and as I mentioned they fit beautifully well under the eye extending outwards to cover the entire area.
I’ve used up an entire box this past week so I guess I’d best stock up on so more but honestly with the amount of eye masks and sheet masks available in Asia I might just go ahead and try different brand!
Life is all about variety!

I dunno what Lip Wax is but I think I need it.
Giorgio Armani Beauty is releasing six shades of lip color entitled Lip Wax. The lip color is advertised as a “blush of color for the lips” which of course made me all hyper to get me some. Doesn’t that sound delightful?
From what I read it sounds intriguing. It’s a weightless formula for lips that has a satin finish and as you can see offers a seriously pigmented pout.
Each pot is $26 USD and can be purchased directly from www.giorgioarmanibeauty.com or visit your local Neiman’s, Nordies, or Bloomies to nab yourself some.
Colors available are:
I have my eye on Sienna and Antique Rose. Maybe a review to follow soon!

Smasbox 24K Golden Effect Top Coat Mascara is the perfect solution if golden lashes are what you seek this Season!
This mascara top coat gives lashes a bit of shimmering sparkle and shimmer! It quite reminds me of Bare Escentuals Luminous Lashes which I’ve reviewed in a previous post. I’m hopeful this version from Smashbox will successfully create a beautiful shimmer to my eyes as the Bare Escentuals version takes a bit of work and simplicity rules!
Looks rather promising! At the moment it’s only available at QVC so use item number A82594 to nab yourself one at $19 USD.
I imagine we’ll see it from Smashbox soon or maybe for the Holiday Collection?
