Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss Lipstick Balm ($34) are a new, hydrating lip balm infused with hyaluronic acid that gives helps lips to retain moisture while plumping them up! This dewy finish balm comes in eight shades for $34 each and is now part of the CT Beauty permanent collection. Even though they call it a balm it appears to be a shiny lipstick and do I have even say it? I’m here for that because I am OVER matte (I was never on board with matte anyway). Thank god mattes are finally leaves the building. Here ye all who hate them dance and rejoice with me! Apparently these do in fact have a high shine finish! And yes, there’s a Pillow Talk shade!

Just a note to say I do hate you Charlotte. I hope you’re reading this because why do you make all these damn gorgeous pinky brown shades? You know those are my downfall! I hate you for making every shade look fabulous! Damn you!

The pandemic has brought about the work at home revolution and you know what? I think it’s here to stay! It’s actually not something I can do on the daily and at some point I will have to go back to work as I see clients daily but I can see some companies just leaving a lot of their work force at home. It’s actually pretty cost efficient especially when you consider the prices of rent on offices here in Manhattan.

Working at home is actually pretty fun as you can walk around the house all damn day in pajamas if you want. I do like my routine and I’m a creature of habit so I did get up daily, get dressed, and do my makeup even if I don’t have a Zoom meeting scheduled for that day. It made me feel normal and I also think it’s important to keep these rituals and routines otherwise I can see myself developing bad habits.

It was pretty funny seeing the mistakes people made on Zoom meetings last year. Like Will Reeves who was business on top and party on the bottom! That man had a nice jacket and shirt on top and he was sitting there with his boxer shorts. Great idea! Too bad you got caught doing it and on national TV haha…! You’ll get no judgement from me because I’ve done this once or twice too! PJ bottoms and a nice blouse on top! After the meeting I just slip the blouse off and have my tank on underneath! Insta-comfort!

I haven’t had any bad Zoom Meeting moments though!

I thought today we’d take a moment to revisit Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser and other potential products that are lying in our beauty graveyards.

I noticed that Allure called Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser one of the “Best Cleansing Balms” Hello? Hello? Anyone home? The best? Naaa!

Am The only that has a big jar of Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser sitting in my bathroom vanity rotting happily away? I purchased it when it first launched and was terribly unimpressed. It’s very thick and it takes a lot of patience to get it to melt down. I’d hesitant to even call it a cleansing balm for that reason! I also felt to a formula that best catered to drier skin as I can see anyone with oily skin potentially not loving it.

Good Morning.

How you doing over there? It’s hump day! The middle of the week! That special time when you know the weekend is looming ahead! Someone once told me if you live for the weekend you probably don’t like your job. I actually don’t believe that. I LOVE what I do for a living but I also enjoy the weekend. Or at least I used to. I miss movies, brunch, shopping, being with friends….! I got a really severe case of cabin fever last weekend and I really wanted to go out but I know that it was my responsibility to stay in. I have no idea if I’m asymptomatic and going out for non-essential reasons isn’t exactly a good idea right now with cases so high. I watched D’Angelo Wallace’s Influencer-19 on Monday and when he broke down at the end about his grandparents I knew that playing it safe the way I have been was the right thing to do even though I was bored.

It does feel like the weekend everyday lately with being home so much! But honestly, if you’re working hard you probably don’t even realize you’re home anymore! And if you do look forward to the weekend or whatever day you have off I say don’t feel bad or guilty about that. We all need a moment to breath, rest, and relax.

But weekend aside….! Today is the middle of the week and I hope you take a second today to just breath. Just take a moment to let your mind rest. Seriously, just close your eyes a minute, empty your head, and try really hard to stop worrying about everything. The universe will right itself and you’re not responsible for that! It’ll do it all by itself without your help. Just take care of YOU! That’s the most important thing. Even if you’re responsible for family, loved ones, etc…still take a moment to concentrate on you because if you’re not good you’re of no help to them!

This is just your daily reminder to take a break and give your brain a little rest. Remember you’re the master of your own life and your own feelings. You have to make yourself feel good, you have to ease your own worries, you have to keep yourself healthy!
