The Muse’s Mail Bag: Who Are You Anyway?

mail bag

Today’s mail bag question is from Ae-Young from Korea.

Dear Muse,

I love reading your blog but I want to know more about you. Can you please tell me something about yourself that doesn’t involve makeup?

Hugs from Korea.
Ae-Young

Take the jump to learn more about the Muse…oh joy how incredibly boring!

Dear Ae-Young.

I’ll make this one awful short as the answers are right here on my blog! Click on over here to read a little bit more about me, who I am, where I live, what I do for a living, and what my hobbies are.

If that isn’t enough….

You can learn 250 little things about me by visiting this post.

And I believe that covers it. I’ve summed up who I am in 250 small statements, pretty cool right?

Hope it doesn’t bore you too much!

Happy reading!

Feel free to tell me who YOU are.

Love hearing about the folks that read my little blog.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

You are so fascinating:) I’m a beauty geek, a cheap one at that. A photographer, engaged to a WoW geek, and a lover of all vintage-y pin up things.

Muse – ‘Boring’ is one word that could never be used to describe you! Loved reading your 250 things 🙂

Aw, shucks; I’ll go first. I have lived in San Diego since 2004 and I consider it home, but I originally hail from Los Osos, a teeny coastal town near San Luis Obispo, California. I’m a Proposal Editor at General Atomics, a federal and commercial contractor based in La Jolla. I have a B.A. in Literature/Writing and am one semester shy of an M.A. in Rhetoric, which I’ll finish this Spring.

I live in a small cottage with my boyfriend and we’re saving for a house. We are joined by two house rabbits, three parrots, and a dog. All are rescues except my one-year-old Jardine’s parrot. She is the most expensive thing in our home!

When I’m not obsessing over makeup, I’m obsessing over fashion and interior design. My main hobby is reading, but mostly I like being with my pets, who I refer to collectively as “the blobs.” The bf and I volunteer at least once a week for a local pit bull rescue. Yup, this girly girl is madly in love with the breed, and I’ve even trained former fighters. Our dog is a rescue pittie named Violet and I freaking adore her. She goes everywhere with me and sleeps on my bed at night. For Halloween I put lipstick on her and she went as Sarah Palin!

I didn’t know you love Jane Austen! I do too! She’s one of my favorite authors ever.

I love reading. And Japanese, Korean, and British things. And I love watching QVC, but have never ordered anything from them. I just find it super relaxing. The fact that you know so much about computers makes me like you even more than I already did. 😀 I would kill for a Hello Kitty thumb drive. What kind of games do you play? I know some Japanese (I took three semesters in college a few years ago), but have forgotten a lot already. I wish I could take Korean, but it’s not offered at the nearby schools. Do you watch regular anime? I like watching funny hentai with my roommate. And I love costume dramas (watched the Cranford Christmas special recently). I like infomercials (especially late at night), and say dude way too much too. And my friends online make fun of me for the “dude” and “awesome” but I live in California, so it’s okay. Trader Joe’s is a million bazillion times better than Whole Foods. I think you’ve inspired me to ask my friend who goes to school in Britain (she’s from Finland) to send me some chips next time she’s there. Pocky is yummy, but hi-chew are my favorite. Only the ones with actual kana on the package though. The ones with English on the package taste more waxy and the flavors aren’t as good. Yaaaaaay Gackt. That’s awesome that you love Gackt too. He’s so FUNNY. And I really love j-pop and k-pop and even c-pop. I never even try to understand the lyrics.

Sorry, I totally wrote that all while reading your list. XD I will tell you that I’ve been reading your blog for years and it’s still probably my favorite one (and I read a lot of makeup blogs). The reason it’s so good is definitely because of your personality, and though you feel you didn’t express as much of that this year, I think it’s noticeable even in your makeup reviews, so don’t worry about that. Oh, and what’s your favorite Austen book?

    • the Muse

      hi hana!

      😀

Yes I’m a fond fan of Austen 😀 read and re-read all of her novels until the spins fair collapsed 🙂 Seems like we have ALOT of the same interests 🙂 I do watch it regularly, actually alot more lately since my friend is pretty obsessed with it, if possible, he likes it more than me. Oooo Cranford was lovely wasn’t it? I’m looking forward to the DVD.

ha someone else that says dude way too much 😀 I don’t feel alone! hi-chew!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE!

LOL I loved reading this, thanks for the reply so cool how alike we are in tastes 🙂 Aw shucks thanks, I love how long term some readers are, are you around since the very beginning 🙂 Omg thanks! That’s a relief as sometimes I truly feel like I’m not getting enough personality into my posts, sometimes reviews run together haha!

PandP is def my favorite Austen book. Mr Darcy is my great love 🙂

Thank you so much for the great comment 🙂 made my day! Hugs!
