MAC A Tartan Tale Noble Nights Lash & Line Eye Bag Review, Swatches, Photos

MAC Noble Nights Lash & Line Eye Bag is a gift set releasing with the new MAC A Tartan Tale Holiday Collection for 2010. The set includes a full size pigment and gel eyeliner plus a mini mascara and liner brush housed in a plaid bag.

Let’s take a look at it.

MAC did a great job with the makeup bags included with these gift sets. Not sure it’s something you’d traditional like to tote around because it’s not exactly pretty but than again everyone’s definition of pretty varies. I find the bag appeals to my Anglophile good nature plus I like its larger size. The bag features a plaid design with a golden MAC emblem. I’m not sure I’d love carrying it around to be honest since it’s a bit masculine rather than the pretty, flirty makeup bags I normally favor.

The set is $36 for all five pieces which include makeup bag, MAC Fluidline, Liner Brush, Pigment, and Mascara.

Purchasing just the gel liner and pigment alone would run you $34.50 so for the $1.50 extra you get the bag, mini liner brush, plus the mini mascara, not bad considering both the pigment and liner are full sizes.

I’d deem the set great for those who like bolder shades as the pigment comes in Teal and creates a more dramatic look since it has a quite a pop of color pay off in the pigment department.

The MAC Fluidline comes in Blitz & Glitz which is black with fine gold sparkle. You can barely see the sparkle though, it’s very subtle but I did feel it makes the shade look almost like a golden brown instead of black.

MAC Zoom Lash Mascara isn’t my favorite mascara but than again I’m not a fond fan of MAC mascara in general so this is just a nice extra included with the set plus it does the job for longer lashes.

I’d recommend the set to those who have never tried MAC Pigments or Gel Liner prior to this as you get some nice extras for a mere $1.50 more. More advanced MAC users will probably already have tried the mascara and pigment in the past however Blitz & Glitz might appeal due to the sparkle in the mix.

The set will be on sale from MAC starting October 28th, 2010.

Will you be getting this set?

I’m still debating which set I should get: Lash & Line Kit, Buff & Line Brush set, or the Viva Glam Lip Bag. One reason I want one of these sets is just because of the bag – I need a good traveling bag.

I already have MAC 187 and many eye shadow brushes, the only things I need from the brush set are 168SE and 209SE.

The Lash & Line Kit included 209SE, but that’s all I needed as I just purchased Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner and lots of different mascara. (and I don’t like the color of the bag anyway.)

The Viva Glam is probably the ideal set and the color of the bag is lovely! But then, I’ll have to get #168 and #209! (maybe I can try EDM’s Tapered Sculpting Face Brush as replacement for #168.)

ya, I just don’t want to waste money on “not-so-good” quality brushes as I did on Bobbi Brown’s ultra fine eye liner brush.

So I guess I’d rather spend money on the Viva Glam set and save up and get individual brushes as they are better in quality 🙂
