Etude House Aloha Ice Sherbert Primer Review

Etude House Aloha Ice Sherbert Primer is part of Korean Brand, Etude House’s Summer Collection. It’s actually a traditional release for Etude House as they’ve done this type of primer before however with the Aloha Collection they went and downsized the size of the bottle which stinks as this is a very interesting primer that I enjoy using.

If you remember the Aqua Sherbet Collection (CLICK) you’ll remember this being a far bigger size at a far nicer price tag but I guess we can’t have it all and just should be thankful it’s back!

Check it!

A cooling primer to shrink pores and prep skin for makeup or to revive tired skin!

Etude House Aloha Ice Sherbert Primer has several uses and is an essential one for warm, humid weather in my humblest. This is a unique, innovative little formula. The formula isn’t something I’ve seen in the US which makes it novel to want and purchase.

It comes in an aerosol can which you need to spray onto a cotton pad to use. Basically it kinda reminds me of those computer Dust-Off Sprays as it has an ice-y cold feel kinda like dry ice and starts off foam-y but quickly becomes liquid. You don’t want to spray it directly on your face or skin since the cold blast can sting so it’s best to spray on a cotton pad and swipe. The primer has a refreshing, hydrating feel that preps skin for moisturizer or foundation and sports a light, almost fruity scent. You can also use this throughout the day to cool your skin off and refresh your makeup. The coldness of the primer is supposed to shrink pores as well to keep skin oil-free however my skin isn’t particularly oily and my pores aren’t large so not sure if that works.

However, anyone that wants a refreshingly cold primer that preps skin or revitalizes it this is a great little product to have particularly during the warm Summer!

Sadly, since this is available within Korea and a few other Asian countries you have to do a little online sleuthing or use evil-bay for a purchase. A friend of mine who lives in Korea picked this up for me.

  • Anyone with larger pores and oily skin (this might do the trick at shrinking pores and mattifying skin slightly).
  • Those wanting to refresh tired skin.
  • Those wanting a cold, refreshing primer to start off their makeup with!

  • Those who aren’t keen doing their shopping online and dealing with airmail shipping, etc..

I’m quite happy that Ice Sherbert is back even if it is a limited edition run (don’t worry, it’ll probably be back again next year. I find the product a welcome addition to my Summer prep routine as it makes my skin feel lively and revitalized plus it’s great for tucking into my tote to use throughout the day or when I’m poolside to cool off my skin.

Great little primer!

Very Muse Approved for purchase!

Hey Muse! In your opinion, do you think those of us with oily skin in humid conditions (I’m spending the summer in Malaysia, quite different from dry California weather) could use this as a very light moisturizer? There’s an Etude House store not too far from where I’m staying and I’m thinking of picking this up, although I can’t really wear a typical moisturizer in this heat and humidity! What do you think?

It’s not going to really mattify hapa but it’ll work nicely as a light moisturizer for oily skin ;-D

Thanks, Musey! 🙂 I went to my nearest Etude House and they didn’t have it, so I ended up hauling a bunch of BB creams to try instead. Love the great reviews on Asian products, keep em coming!

I’m glad you like this because I ended up not liking mine. It didn’t have a fruity smell at all. It was more like the smell you get from cleaning products. It didn’t work so well with my pores too. I do like the cooling effect though!

sorry to hear it mallory…it’s always smelled kinda citrus-y candy to my nose. the original one smelled the same.

I love your blog because you review interesting stuff! For real. I have to try this, as I already love Etude products.
