Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Peach Me Review & Swatches

Revlon has a special display that I noticed at the Evil Empire Walmart recently of Super Lustrous Lipstick.

I’m not sure if the display will pop up elsewhere but I must say I really liked that they took a display and stuck a buncha old shades in it simply because I’ve never really paid much attention to the lipstick before and I liked that they highlighted best selling colors.

I own one or two Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks already but like Maybelline Color Sensational I feel like it’s an overrated lipstick with only one redeeming factor, the gorgeous shade selection.

Peach Me happened to be in that special display unit and even though I’m not terribly into the formula I really liked the shade.

It’s rare for a peach to run cooler but this is a pretty shade of pearl peach that looks like a cooler nude peach on my lips. The color is gorgeous but I just wish I could appreciate the formula a bit more.

I find the formula has a decent glide but isn’t terribly moisturizing and like Sensational Lipstick it kinda sits around on lips making itself known.

As I mentioned above, I do appreciate Revlon for spotlighting some bestselling shades otherwise I’d have never took note of the color before. I’m glad I purchased it and it kinda makes me want to indulge in a few more Super Lustrous colors. I just wish the formula was a little bit more moisturizing with a lighter texture.

Do check out that display at your local Wally World, it’s a nice way to discovery something new.

Are you a fan of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick?

Why do you love it?

Why don’t you?

Do share!

I purchased this item.

  • The Peach

Looks like a great color! It’s been a long time since I’ve even browsed any Revlon products. I’ll have to be on the lookout for this display!

  • Kristanna

That color looks very nice on you!

Im torn over the revlon lipsticks. Theyre not the best formula in the world, however someone like me that has the closest MAC store is 2 hrs away, they arent a bad option to dupe the hot summer brights or some of the hot colors of the season. So yay for availbility but mehhh on formula that can sometimes be a little drying and drag on your lips. I feel like they have to melt a bit on to get the slip.

    • the Muse

thanks kristanna! same here…I love the fact they are cheap and the color range is gorg but the formula is draggy and just has an unnatural feel on my lips!

  • reen

love that color on u muse! u look very pretty! and very summery!
did u reshape ur eyebrows? they look nice and arched!

    • the Muse

aw thanks reen! nope, actually, they are in need of a good threading ;-D growing them out a little before I head in to get them done! they are a mess at the moment :-/

  • reen

“just enough buff” is also a great peachy nude shade (same collection) !!

I have been using these lipsticks for at least 25 years. Why I love them. 1) Simply put they are compatible with my lips. I.E. they never dry them out, never make them feel uncomfortable. 2) It is one of the few lipsticks that does not feather on me, no matter the color. 3) I enjoy how the colors generally look exactly like they do on the tube as on my lips. 4) The intensity/saturation of the shade can be adjusted easily. 5) They seem to last forever on my lips. The color stays forever. 6) When the color DOES fade, after all they are not THAT good, the fade is even. You are never left with the “ring” around the lip thing.

I can definitely see why these would NOT work on some people. I feel myself fortunate that…as they are readily available and not too expensive.

    • the Muse

Lisa you’re lucky girl! I love the shade selection but on my lips they feel terribly heavy and sit unnaturally :-/

      • Janee

The color burst formulation is a lot lighter feeling, Muse. They have one in Peach that I like better than this one in particular. It’s also a bit shearer and has a nice glossy finish. 😀

  • Dawn

That color looks great on you! I may have to scope this one out. Although I normally wear plums and nudes, this looks like a pretty shade. I’ve owned a few of this type of Revlon years ago and I had no problems. I just prefer Tarte lip stains and Clinique lipsticks. I’m a creature of habit when it comes to lipsticks.

    • the Muse

aw thanks dawn! I love the almost lipsticks from clinique those things are the bomb dot com!

  • Janee

I have mostly Revlon lip products. I feel they are great quality for the price. Especially, when my local HEB always have coupons for them. 🙂 You should check out coral berry in this line, as well. Very pretty color. 🙂

  • JenJ

Have it. Love it. Revlon lipsticks are some of my favs be it drugstor or high end.

  • Caroline

I have a soft spot for these because my favorite teacher in elementary school always wore them….we all thought the black and gold tube was SO glamorous!

  • JenJ

Evil empire…bahahaaaaa!!! I can’t stand Walmart and avoid it 99.99999999% of the time.

    • the Muse

same here, same HERE! I venture in for Hard Candy ONLY…they are a mom and pop killer!

      • JenJ

I want to try some Hard Candy stuff so I may venture in there one day EARLY to bet the masses.

        • the Muse

HC has some cute offerings but do some research before going in as the display makes it so tempting but a lot of it is hit or miss!

  • Caitlin

Revlon lipsticks are a fave for me. They are the best at the drugstore, in my experience, and certainly stand up to many dept store lippies I’ve tried. Super Lustrous is a reliable standby. I think ColorBurst has a slightly better formula, but nothing like the color selection, sadly.

  • cynthia Hill

I can’t really see it the way the lighting is on your lips. I guess it looks nice, but I’m gonna have to look at other photos to see if this is a peach I’d want or not.
