Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free Review & Swatches
Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer comes in two formulas one of which is oil free. I’ve heard a ton of folks compare both formulas and say they are the same exact thing.
However, I’m here to say they do differ!
I generally like Bobbi’s Tinted Moisturizer formula and having drier skin I definitely appreciate the original formula which is creamy and hydrating on my skin.
However, my skin does become oily during the warmer months and I feel like tinted moisturizers can sometimes prove a little too hydrating that’s why I really like Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free.
This was created for women with oily skin who want light moisture, sheer coverage and sun protection. This tinted moisturizer has a gel formula with a creamy texture and an easy to blend formula. I find the SPF 15 a little lacking but everything else about the formula is a win.
You can definitely feel the lighter texture here as with the original formula you’re getting a good deal more moisture where as this has a soft, more mattifying feel. Granted, it’s not completely without hydrating benefits but it’s not overly done so your skin is left soft but not oily or too shiny.
This glides on evenly and offers sheer coverage that will enhance your own skin tone but won’t cover major issues. I like how it perfects while remaining natural and fresh on skin. It doesn’t oxidize and remains true to color through the wear. It does have a shorter wear time at around three hours outside on a warmer day and around four indoors however, I find this is the norm for tinted moisturizers.
The coverage it offers perfects skin, evens out skin tone, and as I mentioned will enhance your own tone however, it won’t aid in concealing redness, acne, or other problem areas.
The multifunction of the product allows it to act as your moisturizer as well as your foundation so you can skip moisturizer in the AM should you want (I actually don’t when wearing a TM but it’s a personal option).
It deserves mentioning that these moisturizers run rather dark. The one I swatched is the Light Tint and as you can see it runs a darker beige shade so do go a shade down if you purchase.
Overall, those with oily skin will appreciate an oil-free formulation that gives skin a nice, natural finish without the addition of more shine. It offers matte coverage with just the right hydrating benefits to keep skin looking fresh sans shininess. I do find the SPF 15 sadly lacking! I wish I could find a tinted moisturizer with better sun protection but sadly, it isn’t happening in the US. Outside of the lower SPF, Bobbi’s oil free tinted moisturizer is a win.
Loves it!
