Korres Goddess Beauty Color Collection Holiday 2012 Review & Swatches
Korres has some fun picks for Holiday 2012 including their new Goddess Beauty Color Collection. This is a good excuse to pick the set up as it contains a full size Magic Light Contouring Trio. Released sometime ago the Magic Light Contouring Trio was one that I missed out on. It’s been on my wish list for a while but for some reason I never got the chance to try it.
Let’s take a look!
This is a $38 set and includes two full size products as well as two deluxe size products. Korres Magic Light Contouring Trio Palette is $28 purchased on its own so this is like getting a few extras for $10 more.
You get:
- Korres Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Primer (deluxe)
- Korres Cherry Lipgloss in Pale Pink (full size)
- Korres Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara in Obsidian Black (deluxe)
- Korres Magic Light Contouring Face Trio in Santorini (full size)
This isn’t a really festive kit as it produces more of a bronze-y look so don’t purchase it expecting a Christmas look from it. Do purchase it however, to get a nice value of Korres products in a single set.
I’ve reviewed Korres Quercetin & Oak Primer on my site on more than one occasion. It’s one of my favorite primers as it’s a water based moisturizing primer that leaves drier skin smoother, softer, and brighter. It always perks my skin up after application and eases some of the dullness I experience while setting the stage for foundation or bb cream.
Korres Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara produces some very nice, long lashes however, it does dry down to a stiffer finish. I didn’t mind so much as I was happy with the volume and length it produced.
I’m a HUGE fan of Korres Cherry Lip Gloss just not the color included in this set. This is a more mod pink and sadly I can’t get away with such a shade. However, Korres Cherry Lipgloss has an excellent formula with great pigmentation, long wear, and a lightweight feel. They’ve always reminded me of lighter lip creams versus a full on gloss as they produce such nice color coverage on lips.
Primer and Lipgloss Swatched from Left to Right
And finally you get a Korres Magic Light Contouring Face Trio in Santorini. I think one of the things that prevents me from indulging in this trio palette was I was a little scared it would be a shimmery highlighter. It’s actually a hybrid product that acts as a bronzer, face powder, blush, and highlighter in one. It’s a little powdery and kicks up a fair bit of powder when you dip a brush into it but you can easily tap off excess prior to applying. If you’re one for contouring this should be a nice way to contour areas of your face easily. The top shade is a creamy beige which makes an excellent all over face powder. The middle is a delicate dusky rose that acts nicely as a blush and the last shade is a deep shade of bronzer. Although the strips are small (aside from the beige which dominates the powder) you can maneuver around them to use the indivdual shades should you want to, it’s a little challenging but it can be done. Dipping into all three produces a bronze-y glow on cheeks and face.
Overall, it’s an excellent set with a very nice price tag. It’ll make a nice gift for fans of Korres. I’d change one thing about it, the gloss shade, Korres makes some excellent shades of Cherry Lipgloss. Some of those shades are my HG (holy grail) gloss colors however, this pink just didn’t seem to go with the powder….but I guess it really depends on the tone of your skin as someone else might be able to rock it. For me bronzed cheeks and mod lips, well, it isn’t a flattering look sadly….I’d love a bronze-y shade of gloss instead. Aside from that this is a nice way to check out some fab Korres products for a lot less than buying them separately.
The set is available now at Sephora.com and at Sephora stores.

P.S. I hope you’re having a good day! The week is flying by isn’t it? I feel really on top of things this week unlike last week where I was busy non stop and barely had a sec to breath. I’m also glad to be on top of all my Holiday stuff like shopping/decorations/etc…! That means I can relax a heck a lot more in December and just sit back and enjoy the Holiday season!
How are you doing this week?
