Urban Decay The Theodora Palette

Urban Decay Theodora Palette 1

Urban Decay The Theodora Palette is one of two new Oz the Great and Powerful inspired palettes that the brand launched today on their website. The Glinda Palette is the lighter of the two with Theodora the more natural, sultry shade selection.

I honestly can’t decide whether I’m a Glinda or a Theodora. Technically, coloring wise, I’m a Theodora..brunette, brown hair and eyes plus I love natural, sultry browns, greens, and golds which is exactly what Theo’s palette is all about. But Glinda is equally gorgeous with an MLBB lip color, pretty shades of pink and lilac with gold accents.

How does one decide?

I imagine the solution is to just grab both palettes!

Here’s a sneak peek of the Theodora Palette with a review upcoming soon!

This palette contains:

  • Broken Pale cream satin
  • Beware Warm brown matte
  • BewitchDark charcoal brown satin
  • West Deep metallic brown shimmer
  • Spell Black satin with green and gold shimmer/Gold metallic with tonal glitter
  • Jealous Pale green pearl/Dark green pearl
  • Theodora Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color Bright red cream
  • Zero 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil Black (Travel-sized)

It also includes a first for Urban Decay, a how to get the look guide! Cool right? I think the nicest part of the palette is you can easily swap shades in and out of the collectible tin if you have other eyeshadows from Urban Decay’s newer shadow offerings. Or if you use these up you can purchase other shades to reuse the palette with.

As much as I loved the pop up Alice Palette I find these little tins easier to travel with and just new and refreshing.

Both the Glinda and Theodora Palettes are available now at UrbanDecay.com

Which are you?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. Wow! I didn’t know it came with a “how to” inside, that’s cool! I love the browns in Theodora’s palette *-* I’m not into green shades and red lipstick, yet, this palette is great! The price is also great, well, for those who lives in USA. ‘Cause here in Brazil, if I want these palettes, I’ll pay almost the double T_T Sad but true… That’s why I need to decide between Theodora and Glinda, I can’t have both, too pricy $_$

Ah I would like to see them swatched *-*

    xoxo

    • the Muse

I thought it was a nice touch too flavia ;-D price jack stinks abroad 🙁 le sigh! they’ll be swatched and reviewed soon 🙂

  • barking Blondie

Gos, is this gorgeous! I love the colors, especially the greens, but as I’m a blonde, I’ve decided to buy the Glinda palette, so in love with those colors. 🙂 But I’m sure this palette will suit you! 🙂

    • the Muse

hey barking bondie I think glinda will look incredible on you ;-D it is def made for blondes!

  • Caitlin

You should definitely get both, Muse, so that we can live vicariously through you. I’m definitely a Theodora in coloring–and probably in personality, judging solely from the expressions on those promo shots. 😛 (And hey, it’s nice that she has a name besides Wicked Witch, isn’t it?)

    • the Muse

hey Caitlin 🙂 actually the post for the other palette is up shortly got press launch on both yay! 😀 lol def agreed!

  • BLee

*clicking my ruby red heels* ” There is no place like home” LOL 😀 Thanks. Muse for the new pictures. I thinks me like this one a tad better.

  • Christy

“How does one decide? I imagine the solution is to just grab both palettes!” I chuckled out loud when I read that because my friend Facebooked me last night and said she did just that, got them both. She said she needed major retail therapy from the week she had been through so I said it was totally ok, we don’t want to deny ourselves therapy! lol xxx Christy

    • the Muse

lol christy exactly ;-D therapy especially beauty therapy makes for a happy and calm person hehe!

  • Ashley

You know, when you first posted about these, I was squeeing all over the Glinda pallette but now taking a closer look, the Theodora pallette is where it’s at! Can’t wait for your review!

  • Vickie

Oh no! Rut-Roh! I love them both now…BUT not a fan of a Red Lippie, although it looks great on the model..I do see it doesn’t come with a Lippie…so my Question is: What color would you choose???? I’m LOVIN’ the “How to Guide” that is awesome too….Can’t wait to see the swatches…..

  • Chloe

Hey Muse, I’m not sure the how-to guide thing is a first for Urban Decay…an instructional booklet came with Smoked and there were how to videos with the butterfly BOS if I recall correctly. Is Urban Decay billing the how-to booklets in these palettes as new?

    • the Muse

chloe I actually don’t have the smoked palette and didn’t realize there was an instruction booklet in it, thanks for letting me know. I wasn’t referencing how to videos simply the how to get the look cards, as far as it being new, that was my own personal comment as I hadn’t seen the “how to get the look” guides from UD before 🙂 they aren’t billing it as new, I was! sorry didn’t know about the Smoked one ;-D

      • Chloe

Thanks for the reply! I just wanted to make sure UD wasn’t claiming something they should know isn’t accurate, haha. Wouldn’t want one of my favorite companies to get amnesia! 🙂

        • the Muse

my pleasure and thanks for letting me know…! 😀 I didn’t indulge in the smoked palette because lately all that dark makes me look like someone punched me in the eye ;-D puffiness and fine lines make dark shadow look crazy bad for me ;-D so I def though the how to get the look was a completely new concept particularly because I read a few reviews on the smoked palette and didn’t hear anyone mention the card! shows what I know ;-D

  • Lyssa

this will sell like candies on my place .. im tired of drugstore brand makeups that being sold as midrange prices and online stores that sells more than the prices i expected 🙁

    • the Muse

lyssa you lost me drugstore brand makeups being sold as mid range prices? this is actually a mid-range with a mid-range price?

      • Lyssa

Muse many retailers from sephora raises their price to 80% UB naked and naked 2 from $50 is being sold here $85up , Nyx became midrange prices by 90%up , rimmel’s price 65% sleek from a $2.50 is $6 bux, l’oreal from reg prices increases 75% higher than its being sold to UK and US .. i got mine from retailers in wholesale shop where makeups are categorized as class A , Class B w/c regular malls doesnt sell them ..but many MAC Lipsticks that where off season sale are selling class A in 20%off and the keep the original in their stockrooms .. frustrating isnt it?

  • cat

It’s not the most exciting palette but it looks perfect for brown eyes (which I have). Excited to hear what you think, Muse.

  • Nicole

I love the packaging on both palettes! I’m more of Theodora in terms of coloring though, brown hair/eyes.

The one thing I noticed is that some of the colors look similar to ES in UD palettes that I already own. I’m not sure that I’m going to buy for that reason. When you swatch them Muse, could you note if it’s really a new color, or just a different name? I hate when companies have 10 seperate names for the same color!

    • the Muse

nicole I’m a little bad with naming dupes and such…if I see something similiar I’ll def try to relate it in my review but I simply don’t have the time to go back and look through for dupes unfortunately 🙁 I wish I did but between life, work, and Musings sometimes it’s hard to get that detailed in my reviews but if anything sticks out I’ll do my best to list the dupe 🙂

  • Nicole

Thanks Muse! Totally understand that it’s a lot to ask. I actually bought both palette’s from Sephora.com so I could swatch myself! I figured that was the best way to go! 🙂

    • the Muse

hey nicole, sorry, girl if I did this full time I’d happy list all dupes possible but sometimes between life and work (especially around this time of the year, my office is super busy) it’s really difficult to compare exact colors/dupes/products 🙂 I def try to list a dupe sometimes if I think they might look similiar. If anything comes to mind will do my best to remember to place it in my review ;-D

      • Nicole

Oh no reason to be sorry, Muse! I understand that your busy, and I really love your blog! Truth be told…I ordered them as soon as they hit the website on Sunday! :)…I’m so weak! LOL I always tell myself I’m going to wait for swatches, I don’t need it, etc…Then I just go ahead and buy it the first chance I get! 🙂

        • the Muse

Aw thanks <3! so glad you enjoy Musings ;-D I'm the SAME way! always tell myself to wait for a review, see some swatches, as I know that'll kill some of my lemmings but nope, can never wait ;D

  • Tiggy

OMG!!!!!!!! I’m so excited for this palette! I hope I can get my hands on this one. It looks great for casual day wear and night wear.

  • Majick

I was hoping for swatches but I’ll just get some when I leave work – think I’ll head straight to Ulta and purchase one (or two). LOL
