Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick Spring 2013

I’ve always been a very fond fan of Clarins Lipstick in any shape or form but the new Clarins Rouge Eclat takes that love to new levels. Introduced in fifteen shades for Spring 2013 these gorgeous lipsticks must ALL come home with me soon.

Vibrant color, a gorgeous moisturizing texture that slides onto lips like silk stockings, and an incredible wear make these a must have Spring addition to your makeup stash.

Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick

Let’s take a look.

I have my fav Clarins Lipsticks formulas but I can honestly say Clarins Rouge Eclat Lipstick has completely overshadowed them all! I love the texture of these and at $26 a pop they don’t come cheap but I do so swear they are well worth indulging in.

Juicy Clementine, Red White, Chocolate Rose

Clarins dubs them an age defying lipstick thanks to the moisturizing formula created with 100% Plant waxes such as mimosa, jojoba, and sunflower all of which contain skin fortifying ingredients to keep lips protected from dryness. They have a smooth, soft, buttery texture that glides onto lips beautifully leaving behind a full opaque finish in a single stroke. Never tugging, never dry, they produce a smooth appearance on lips with a rich color pay off. Outside of Asian brands these are some of the nicest lipsticks I’ve come across stateside and believe me I’ve tried plenty. The incredible texture is a cross between a full coverage lipstick and a high quality lip butter or balm with a lightweight feel. You wouldn’t expect the formula to be so weightless considering how much color each shade provides but they are light as air on lips.

The wear lasts anywhere from four to five hours without eating or drinking and as it fades it leaves behind a delicate flush of stained color. They called the finish satin but for me it’s more of a buttery cream with a high sheen finish that’s almost glossy on some levels. With such a moisturizing formula you wouldn’t expect pigment but indeed they pack a good deal of color. They most resemble L’Oreal’s Caresse Sticks but the texture is lighter and far more moisturizing.

I urge you to check them out on counter soon.

I’m sure you’ll love them as much as I do.

Muse I know this has nothing to do with this, but since there has been a lot of controversy, I wanted to know if you are going to review the new sigma glove for cleaning your brushes. I have seen a lot of videos about this… but the one that I love was the one made by gossmakeupartist. Even if you like the product is hilarious to see him ranting about it.

    • the Muse

sylvia I haven’t really covered sigma on the site tbh…I doubt I’ll review it. I didn’t even know about until just now 🙂 sorry! $40 seems a waste for me to splurge on an odd brush glove??? sounds weird 😀 I’d rather splurge on something else.

I have a couple of these, and love them. They do feel soft and buttery, with good color payoff. I think I need the Chocolate Rose now!

  • Becca @ The Beauty Sample

Wow these are gorgeous on you, Muse! I love a nice moisturizing lippie like this! (though I usually prefer mine quite a bit sheerer, but these are so pretty I still want to try them!!)

    • the Muse

aw thanks becca! if you want sheerer you should try the amazon butter lipsticks!

  • blueraccoon

*sigh* I don’t need more lipstick. I don’t need more lipstick. I don’t need more lipstick.

I wonder if I can get to Nordstrom’s this Friday and check these out?

    • Joan

Ohhhh no, I don’t need more lipstick either, but just to show how much I trust you, Muse, I just ordered three shades from Nordstrom online. Can’t wait to get them.

  • amy

That Chocolate Rose is just *stunning*. I may have to actually track this one down, or worse-buy online, LOL (I *hate* online shopping). It looks alot like Lancôme Crushed Rose, which was my HG MLBB for many years. I prefer lipbalms for everyday wear, but if these are truly as you describe, I may have to pick up a few, LOL.

  • Stacey

Lovely lovely!! How would you compare this to the Too Faced La Creme lipsticks? Which would you recommend more? Thanks! ^^

    • the Muse

mmm def a more moisturizing formula Stacey, lighter feel on lips too! but just as good ;D

  • anna

I have been waiting to buy one of these but haven’t found any at my local counter yet and want to try the colors before I purchase. I am hoping they show up soon. I am a sucker for truly moisturizing lippies!

  • Kimmwc03

I was thinking about ordering Tropical Pink based on another recommendation but was not sure. Then I read your review and I knew I should go ahead and order it. I really wish I could pull off that Juicy Clementine, though. So pretty.

    • the Muse

kim totally can’t do the tangerine either of Juicy Clementine 😀 but love it anyway hehe!

  • admmgz

I’m glad they’re Muse approved! 🙂 I was looking at these last Saturday at Nordstrom- they’re beautiful! I’m gonna pick up a couple of these bad boys this weekend (after payday) 😉

  • Majick

Chocolate ROse looks SO boring in the tube but on your lips it’s the BEST MLBB color ever! ALmost looks like you have gloss on top.

    I’m NOT biting… (i hope) LOL

I did just pick up the new NARS lippie, “Dressed to Kill”. THe jury is still out. I love the color, it’s a pretty dark pink with gold sparkles. I really hate glitter/sparkles in my lippies because I find over time I usually end up with tiny sparkles all over my chin area. My DH said he couldn’t see the sparkles but my lips looked full. He actually said it looked like my lips but better LOL. my lips are pretty pigmented but they are not quite as dark as DTK.

    • the Muse

aw thanks majick def a great MLBB totes agree. Hmmm gotta check that shade out!!!!!!

  • Meghan

You can tell those are super moisturizing! They look so on your lips! I love that deeper shade, it’s absolutely gorgeous. I am so checking these out!

  • Musebeliever

I grabbed three of them. They are really fantastic !!! Clementine is my fav !

  • Claudine

Ooooh i’m inlove with the chocolate rose shade. I’ll add that to my list. Hehe i’ll let my mom buy for me 🙂 this looks good on any skin tone i think 🙂

  • i.enjoy

It’s amazing , whenever I google something to do with beauty I find your page. Thanks for writing so many reviews ,especially the ones on lipstick shades !

    • Isabella Muse

yay that’s always nice to hear 😀 my pleasure hope you enjoy them 🙂
