Maybelline Pop of Cherry Vivids Color Sensational Lipstick Review & Swatches
Pop of Cherry is one of three new limited edition shades of Maybelline Vivids Color Sensational Lipstick launched with the Maybelline Goes Electric Collection for Spring 2013.
Pop of Cherry is one of two reads launched with the collection the other being Infra-Red which is a far truer, bolder brighter shade of red.
Pop of Cherry is slightly misleading as it isn’t really red or cherry-like in color but has hints of it.

My original test with the Vivids was fairly good but I have to admit these new LE shades are outstanding. They have a very creamy texture, incredible pigment as per their name, and excellent staying powder. I find creams terribly drying or too mod looking on me but these shades look incredible all their own or with some clear gloss on top. The cream finish is very flattering and glides onto lips with a rich, creamy, color saturated pay off. Truly they are vivid and leave up to their name. For the five or so dollars you’re going to spend on a tube they are indeed a great beauty budget pick.
Pop of Cherry is available for a limited time so if you’re wanting it after this review best start hunting it out and gathering up back ups if you love the shade.
Pop of Cherry, Orange Edge, and Infra-Red
I don’t think my lip swatch does the shade justice as although named Pop of Cherry there isn’t a ton of cherry going on here. This leans towards being more tangerine with a hint of red. The color seems to have a life all its own as sometimes it looks almost red on my lips where as other times in daylight it looks all out tangerine. It’s an interesting shade.
This one is worth exploring due to the excellent texture and formula. The shade itself is unique enough to warrant a purchase as well if you love full coverage, bold lipsticks.
I hope Maybelline continues on this path with the Color Sensational Lipstick line as the Vivids Collection shows much improvement versus the general catalog shades I’ve tried in the past.
