Etude House Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Pencil Review and Swatches

Etude House Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Pencil

Oh hello vibrant! Etude House Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Eyeliner Pencils are a range of new popping shades of liner available for Summer 2013 that recently introduced with the Etude House Color Pop Collection.

Ok, like we need more eyeliners right…especially with Urban Decay monopolizing the unusual shades of eyeliner market right?

But…props to Etude House because seriously the Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Pencil Collection has shades that Urban Decay hasn’t even dreamed up yet like bright orange and red. You know you want red eyeliner, don’t sit there shaking your head no, deep in your heart you kinda having this lemming for a red eyeliner.

Me too.

That’s why this collection of eyeliners appeals!

Etude House Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Pencil might seem like any other eyeliner out there BUT they have an advantage with shades that aren’t commonly offered by brands.

Granted you have navy blue, green, and even brown in this collection but the real joy comes from the unusual shades like tangerine, bright yellow, and red. Outside of Sleek Make Up not a ton of brands have embraced shades like this so that in itself makes this collection very unique.

They have the market pegged for fun shades but they don’t quite have the formula down in my humblest. These are creamy with a small bit of shimmer in each shade however, the texture seems a little drier to me and it tugs when applied. It doesn’t have that smooth, creamy glide a good eyeliner pencil typically has. PK104 is a sparkling baby pink and this actually had a far nicer formula compared to the other two shades I got which were OR201 and RD303. PK104 had a smoother, creamier skip free application where as OR201 and RD303 I felt like I had to go over my line to get the smoothest appearance. Don’t get me wrong they are creamy just not creamy enough for me especially when compared to formulas like Pixi Eyeliner or Urban Decay. I think if you have oily lids you’ll like these as the formula will likely apply easier for such a skin type however, those with drier eyes might feel they aren’t as creamy as they had hoped for. They wore strong for me once applied and I didn’t have issues with the color fading or smearing/smudging away.

On the up side…the colors are stupid cool! Tangerine eyeliner? Sign me up! I look a fool in my photos below using on the lash line only but you can pair it up with a softer peach or gold shadow and it’ll look fabulous!

If nothing else Color Pop Drawing Show Creamy Pencils hit all the right marks for unique shades.

I really like just the orange liner on you Muse. With maybe a nude blush, a sheer tangerine lip, some mascara, and MAYBE a bit of light brown liner on the outer bottom lash line and you’d look very fresh & Summery.

I fail at lining my top lid so much that I really need to practice. Problem is that I have tiny almond eyes, so just a tad too much and it makes my eyes look even tinier.

oh cheers on the rec for a brown liner that would work fab and agreed on the nude blush ;-D I suck at it too don’t feel bad!

Oh my GOD! The cranberry is delicious looking! I have no idea if it would make me look like I have conjunctivitis – but I wants it anyway! 🙂

Reds can be a bit tricky, but here are a few tips:

      1. Prep the eye area. Concealer, and matte beiges/nudes to cover any darkness and/or redness. You can eventually play with other finishes/shades, but it would be easiest to start with these.

      2. If you have dark eyes, any red will work, but for lighter eyes, try to stay away from reds that lean pink, but reds that lean orange may work better.

      3. Line only the upper lash line, or try “double-lining” with a dark shade (eggplant, brown, black). Also, if you’re only doing the red, don’t get too close to the inner corner.

      4. Finally, load up the mascara. This will create a “border” between the eye & liner, and the whites of the eye won’t pick up the red, but the iris will.

Also, if necessary, use eye drops, especially if you have any extra redness in the eye.

Thank you Amy for such great tips! 🙂
Muse, I think all of these colors are so pretty and the orange looks good on you!

Orange is nice on you. I think for the summer, any color goes. You can wear the red one when you watch the latest ep of Game of Thrones. It would go with the ep. 😀

    • the Muse

LOL yes! down with the king of the north *shakes first and splashes on red eyeliner to celebrate* ;-D

  • Joy

Oh hellz yeah! We *all* want orange, pink and red eye liners. We just didn’t know it yet. Oh Musey you crack me up! Way to make that orange one work! I likey on you! 🙂 <3

  • Felis

Orange and red, YES PLEASE. Maybe something with better color payoff than the Sephora Pantone orange eyeliner from last year. *grumble*

Thats too funny, I was just seeing something about red eyeliner last week. It made me want to try it..lol!

I think you might have gotten a couple duds or something. I have the red one (RD303 “Crazy Red”) and it’s it’s super soft and creamy, almost too soft and creamy if that’s even possible.
I love it, but I really wanted the burgundy color which only comes in the special tin set of these eyeliners. I really wish they sold it separately, especially since none of the other colors in the set interested me in the least (plus it cost like 22 bucks… and that’s in Korea, not on the online/international market).
Korea has been on a burgundy eyeliner trend lately.. I think it started with Clio’s gelpresso liners (which are amazing!!) in their new “bloody” line with Sandara Park from 2NE1. I swear ever since then, almost every Korean cosmetic line has come out with their own version of burgundy eyeliner.
