Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer Review & Swatches
Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer SPF 30 is a new lightweight, whitening moisturizer that Etude House recently released for Spring 2013. It is marketed as an everyday moisturizer that gives skin a whiter, brighter appearance but the effects are temporary so no need to be scared to use it.
Take a look!
I personally like whitening moisturizers, facial packs, etc…because my skin is duller so I’m always looking for ways to brighten up my complexion. If you suffer from duller skin I’d recommend checking some out as they can do wonders for duller skin.
This comes in a tube with a pump dispenser. Again, I always mention this, but I dislike this packaging because on occasion it is faulty. I’ve actually used an entire tube of Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer and didn’t have a single problem with the pump. I got another one…and BAM problems. So I guess it depends.
Unlike the My Blooming Skincare Collection the Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer has a delicate fresh floral scent that’s quite subtle and all lovely.
At first I disliked this formula a lot! I mean a lot, a lot! This reminds me of milky liquid SPF which I dislike with a passion. It has a thinner milky consistency that feels quite oily when first applied. But it actually absorbs fairly easily and leaves behind a semi-matte finish. The level of moisture it provides isn’t nearly enough for those with drier skin unfortunately. It’s probably best suited to those with oily skin as it provides some hydration but the semi-matte finish stays matte all day without going greasy or oily or adding oil to already oily skin.
Personally I have drier skin and it will work great for me in the Summer when I want a lighter moisturizer and my skin is a bit more combination than it would be in the Winter months.
It does indeed have a whitening effect…actually the effect is more of a chalky, pasty finish. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it does have that SPF white cast but it also sets a very good canvas for makeup. And if you’re careful and apply the right BB Cream or Foundation product you can ease that pastiness and just have a brighter more evenly toned complexion that looks healthier and natural. There is room for plenty of mistakes here…the pasty finish and combination of using just the right base products to ease that pastiness takes a little learning curve but it can be accomplished. Most of my photos this week are done with this used as my moisturizer and I think you can see how very bright and healthy my skin looks (examples can be found here and here)
If you’re looking for a moisturizer to brighten skin up and whiten it temporarily I’d recommend checking out Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer. I would recommend it for fair, medium fair, and even tan skin tones…darker might not experience the same visual results but it still can be used as a daily moisturizer for such a tone none the less! Plus I find that dark skin never goes dull, it just always look perfect so there isn’t any major use for this.
I had a friend purchase it for me from Korea but a range of E-bay sellers sell this for close to retail or you can try imomoko.com as well.
Anyone try this?
