YSL Yves Saint Laurent Top Secrets BB Cream Skintone Perfector

Prestige brands are finally starting launch BB Creams. Dior was one of the first to breach the market but mid-range and drugstores have definitely had a firm hold in the BB Cream arena. Guerlain recently introduced Lingerie de Peau BB Cream this Summer and now YSL joins the prestigious BB Cream group with their new Top Secrets BB Cream Skintone Perfector for Fall 2013.

Take a look!

YSL Yves Saint Laurent Top Secrets BB Cream Skintone Perfector is available in three shades and promises to hydrate, correct, and conceal. They specially state that it primes skin to conceal imperfections which means it might be a bit sheerer, I hope not, but it implies that it might be! It also has an SPF 25.

Shades:
Light
Medium
Dark

It’s $50 and available now at Nordstrom.com

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’m starting to get sick of this BB cream phase, lol. It doesn’t seem like it’ll go away anytime soon though, especially with the new wave of CC creams that are coming out 🙁

I’ve tried the Dior and had very little success picking a color that matched me as all three leaned pink. The Guerlain felt great on but lasted about 4 hours and started to break down horribly on my oily skin 🙁

Muse, I give up! 🙁 I hope you have better luck with them!

I got this a month or two ago in the shade ‘clair’ – the lightest one as released here in New Zealand. I’d never tried a BB creme before, but my mum got it for me to use as a ‘foundation’ for my wedding laer this year. I’m lucky to have really good skin (though by no means perfect!!), and I’ve always been scared I’ll look terrible in foundation and powder.

I *LOVE* this stuff. It smells like fresh pears when it comes out of the tube, it gives the most amazing all-over evening-out/forgiving blur and semi-dewy glow, and it’s sheer enough for me to feel like I can still see my skin! You can build it up a bit over problem areas without it looking patchy, and it stays put for me through a 12 hour day (that included 3 (sweaty!) hours of ballet). With a tiny dusting of powder on top it gives a velvety, perfect look. The back of the tube says it would make a ‘sophisticated look’ as a base for foundation, and I kind of believe it would (although I haven’t tried)…

Two thumbs up from me!! (I just wish I could afford to wear it every day – it’s NZ $88 ! O_o)
