Etude House Bling in the Sea Proof 10 Color Eye Stick Review

Etude House Bling in the Sea Proof 10 Color Eye Stick

Etude House Bling in the Sea Proof 10 Color Eye Stick Eyeshadow are a selection of chubby cream shadows that Etude House recently released with their Bling of the Sea Collection for Summer 2013.

The 10 Color Eye Stick Eyeshadows are not new products as the general catalog already has a few shades in this type of pencil however, the Bling in the Sea Pencils bring a new, wider array of vibrant colors to the scene for a limited time.

Take a look!

Etude House Bling in the Sea Proof 10 Color Eye Stick are available in ten shades with a theme of sunny and oceanic shades. These are a dual ended cream eyeshadow pencil with a swivel up packaging and a dome shape that fits easily into the contour of your lid for ease of application. The double side of the pencil houses the shadow on one side and a sponge tip applicator on the other for blending. I actually prefer using my fingers to blend these out so the little pointed sponge isn’t really necessary for me.

I was a little disappointed that some of the pencils had a loose top that kept slipping off the sponge applicator side. To my relief the side that houses the eyeshadow was perfectly snug but for some reason on two of the pencils I hauled the top kept slipping off the other side of the pencil. A minor annoyance but it is worthy of a mention.

These are so very vibrant! They have excellent color pay off with a rich pigment and a creamy formula. The pencils are a tad inconsistent though…as most of the shades I hauled were gorgeous but one lacked pigment and was quite gritty compares to the others (PK002 aka Pink Mermaid). Outside of that I felt like they all performed fairly well. They do have a heaping helping of glitter so be ware prior to purchase! They are literally laced with glitter straight through the pencil and this could prove annoying for those who wish to avoid shimmer or sparkle of any kind. The formula is extra creamy and blends out to a great finish with plenty of play time prior to setting. They do not blend away like some cream shadows have been known to do and they build beautifully without looking cakey or overdone. They set to a super finish even on oily lids so you’ll have a solid wear time without fading for at least ten hours straight…! I find they set on my drier lids for a crease-free finish for at least ten hours with very minor fading into hour twelve.

I think not only do the pencils perform very well but the colors are so very vibrant and beautiful! If you want you of course, can use them as a base for powders but with this much pigment why would you? I do recommend you avoid the lighter shades though as the experience I had with Pink Mermaid was disappointing to say the least as it was gritty with absolutely no pigmentation and Orange Sunrise, although not gritty, wasn’t nearly as pigmented as the other shades I purchased. It seems like the lighter colors might be a skip but that’s based on the experience I had with them….perhaps some of the others are better.

Etude House Bling in the Sea Proof 10 Color Eye Stick are well worth a pick up if you love cream eyeshadows!

Bubbling pink is such a lovely color! Too bad I don’t like online shopping for cosmetics 🙁

…I…I shouldn’t like Orange Squid as much as I do. There’s something about the orange (my favorite) and the name (squid, awww), and, and…agh I’m just going to pretend I didn’t see this post.

one thing i love about Etude House shadow pens is because they last really long!! there was once i actually swatched on my arm and it didnt come off (despite washing my hands like a zillion times) until i used makeup remover! lasted long than those Urban Decay 24/7 pens! =D
