Diorific Royale Long Wear True Colour Lipstick Review & Swatches
Diorific Royale Long Wear True Colour Lipstick ($36) is one of three limited edition shades that launched with the Dior Golden Winter Holiday 2013 Makeup Collection.
It’s actually a creamy shade of neutral golden pink with specks of delicious golden sparkle in the mix. However, it is one of those shades I’d avoid as it runs a touch cooler and I prefer warmth in my lipstick shades.
But this surprised me, YOU NEED IT!
This year the Diorific Lipsticks are a little less traditional and a lot less bold compared to last year’s selection. Diorific Royale Long Wear True Colour Lipstick is testimony to that. Housed in a golden dumbbell like case this elegant lipstick reeks beauty and sophistication. It has a light rose flavor and scent that lingers during the wear and provides full coverage on a single application. Royale is a tad drying if my lips are already dry to begin with so a bit of a scrub and balm prior to application might be necessary if you’re prone to dry lips. It feels a little tiny gritty during the application but doesn’t tug and applies smoothly. The wear varies but I can get from 4 to 5 hours without a touch up.
The color is what’s special here though. At a glance it looks like a step darker from a neutral pink perhaps with a bit more rose thrown in. But applied it takes on a beautiful golden hue that’s part pink, part golden, and a little coral. It’s very pretty and unique to my own stash of more warmer lip colors.
This one is a keeper.
It really is a stunning shade! Not traditional Holiday but well worth the indulgence! You NEED it!
It’s available for a limited time at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com.
