MAC Adjust Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting products

I’m down the very last of my beloved Skin Food Salmon Dark Circle Powder and I have been kinda sorta weaning myself off it with products like Ben Nye Banana Powder and Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder but better yet I’ve discovered MAC Adjust Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting for not only setting my concealer but also brightening under my eyes and all over my face!

Total must have peeps!

If you haven’t played around with some of the new MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting products please do! Particularly the Adjust shade selection which is positively awesome in my opinion.

Adjust is kinda the perfect match for my skin tone. It’s a softer shade of beige that brightens up my duller skin and just visibly perfects and evens my skin tone.

I have all three of the products available in the Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting products which I use for different areas of my face.

MAC Adjust Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Loose Powder is a loose, finely milled silica powder I use under my eyes after concealer. I take a small blending brush, something like the MAC 224 works a treat, and gently smooth a small bit of the powder under my eyes. This not only sets my concealer for all day wear but also brightens my entire area up beautifully. On a well prepped eye I have no issues with this silky powder creasing under my eyes or aging them. Of course, you can also set your entire face with this! It has a nice brightening effect that evens out skin tone and eases dullness. Plus it has a soft, even finish on my drier skin that doesn’t accentuate drier areas.

MAC Adjust Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Primer contains an SPF 30 and is a sheer creamy formula which evens out skin tone while brightening. This adds a bit of a hydrating effect to prep my skin for foundation or BB Cream while evening out my skin tone and brightening up my entire face. It’s been my facial primer since I got my hands on it earlier this month.

And finally MAC Adjust Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Powder Compact is one that I used least. This I’ll likely make use of more when the warmer weather approach. This is a nice way to get lightweight coverage which reduces shine slightly, brightens, and evens out my skin tone. It’ll be the perfect weightless powder to wear over moisturizer and under my color cosmetics come Summer!

I really love the shade Adjust and highly recommend it for those with fair to medium fair skin tones. The shade just performs magic for brightening up my entire face!

Loves it.

These look so interesting..I want to try one but just don’t know what will be the shade for my skin tone..but these look great products especially the primer..Thanks Muse for sharing your thoughts as always 🙂

aw my pleasure dear there are four shades to choose from so you def have options!

  • Tammie

Do you think it would work on us super-pale peeps too? I love my NYX translucent but I’m always down to try new stuff if it’s even better (and added coverage is always nice).

Oh BTW I ended up getting meteorites after all (Nordstrom had 1 left of the old one, the second shade so I thought I’d better snap it up) and I LOVE IT and use it daily. Most of the sparkle doesn’t show up but it just brings my mattified skin back to life it’s so awesome.

    • Isabella Muse

yeah, not the compact because it runs darker…but the loose and the cream yes. It’s pretty translucent so the shade should match well on fairer/medium fair/light medium tones ;-D YAYYYYY I’m happy to hear it! P.S. Thanks for all your troubleshooting help! any other issues?! Pop ups!?

      • Tammie

Ok~ I don’t really use compacts anymore so it’s perfect. As long as I have the right setting powder it’s at least good enough to last until I get home lol. I’m heading to Nordstrom tonight and I’ve been eyeing the loose powders so I’ll give it a look and maybe a buy xD I’m almost done with my NYX powder too, so that helps hehe

        You’re welcome btw thanks for reminding me I DID get a popup, but I totally forgot, I think I got it while I was falling asleep last night, I’ll send it to you right now, thanks for the reminder xDDD;;

I am a new user of the Ben Nye Banana Powder and have also tried to Mac Prep and Prime on my clients. I have used the yellow shade, but I do not remember the name. I found the Mac powder to not be as fine as the Ben Nye Powder and it wasn’t as subtle on my client. What made you want to wean off the Ben Nye Powder for setting concealer? I find the Ben Nye to be a lot softer and less cakey.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not weaning myself off of the Ben Nye, I was trying to wean myself off the Dark Salmon Powder because it was discontinued so I’ve been trying to replace it.

Hi muse happy monday night. Thanks for this recap. I’m a little too tan (don’t hate because I live in the desert) for my current mac bb cream primer dealio which I’ve been using under studio fix powder and I think before I go grab deeper shades I might check this out.. I’m still on the fairer side of medium I believe and I would like to try something new. You had me at silica and brightening.

I am loving the Adjust primer too! I also got the Illuminate loose powder which I like a lot; love how it softens my makeup and blurs imperfections (as well as possible on me – LOL).

    • Isabella Muse

not sure william, for some reason it is though! could be because it is pressed and it swatches deeper.

  • Corinne

I was really sad they discontinued the skin fortifying enhancer as that was my HG face primer in Adjust for years..luckily this is just as good and I think they just repackaged it to say CC cream. LOVE LOVE LOVE Adjust primer and glad that it’s getting the recognition it deserves

    • William

Hi, Corinne! both primers are the same (skin fortifying x cc cream)? just the packaging? tks 🙂
