Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder

Wait, rewind, didn’t wasn’t Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder always available?! Screeching halt…I guess not. Now that I think about it Make Up For Ever was kinda the groundbreaking on HD anything including their popular HD Loose Powder and thinking harder I realized hey, they never did do a HD Pressed Powder only a loose one!

So…

Moral of this story is if you hate the sometimes messy nature of a Loose Powder now Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder is here to make your day a little more happier as it’s less mess, more portable, and still blurs your little imperfections away while setting your makeup!

Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder3

Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder ($36) is a new finely milled translucent finishing powder. This has a looser consistency with a soft, silky texture that will blur the appearance of fine lines and pores while creating a soft finish on skin that sets makeup for long wear and keeps skin shine free.

HD Powder aka silica powder is a great way to soften your look and give skin a soft focused finish. It’s fairly invisible when applied correctly but be careful as it is easy to over do and therefore create a pasty finish. No one wants to look chalky, no bueno!

I’m actually quite in love with MAC Adjust Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting products at the moment so don’t kill me for saying that although an essential, Make Up For Ever HD Pressed Powder isn’t exactly groundbreaking.

On the upside is is talc-free and takes the mess out of the loose powder version plus it’s more portable now! And the formula even contains hyaluronic acid (apologies for my dry swatch! My skin is on dry mode this week and no matter how much moisturizer I use my arms are still scaly ugh! Is it Summer yet?)!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Long time no speak, Muse! (That’s so oddly phrased but you get what I mean xD)

I had the MUFE HD loose powder before and didn’t really like it much. I just repurchased my all-time favorite, the NARS Translucent Setting powder. God, I love that product. I just love me my NARS.

I suppose I shall skip this one but thanks for the review nonetheless!

P.S. there’s something really alluring about a white compact like that isn’t there…or is that just me 😡

hiya libby nice to hear from you! how’s everything? I love the Nars Setting Powder but that is DEF a way different formula compared to this ;-D my pleasure! ha..nope, it’s that pristine white that draws us in!

I am thinking about investing into a high quality powder. Do you recommend this one or the Hourglass Ambient Lightning Powders? thanks! 🙂

Are the ingredients the same as the loose HD powder, with just hyaluronic acid added? Would love to know if this is a major formulation change as their HD powder is a bit of a rip off, considering that it’s nothing but silica & can be bought in bulk for next to nothing. I may have to test it out if they’ve really put some work into this product.

So far, I’m still loving NARS newest loose & pressed powders, which do a phenomenal job of setting foundation & keeping it looking great all day, even on oily skin like mine. Great formulation with both of these.

Love your site! Is it ok to use a velour pad to apply instead of a brush?

    • Isabella Muse

thanks Sandra. Sure, just be careful as the pad could apply more than you need and leave you with a pasty finish!
